Dr. Chow's class is a very easy A. You don't have to go to every class, maybe 1 each week. You don't have to read the books if you go to all the class though. I was disappointed because the class could have been much more interesting. We seemed to watch movies all the time. At least 5 per semester.

Dr Chow is no teacher. Im sorry but he has anger issues. Ask him a simple question and you will feel his wrath by trying to humiliate you in front of the class. I dont know what his problem is. He doesnt care about his students and you can BARELY understand his chinese/southern accent. He needs to try to treat his students with respect and courtesy

Asian American Lit: Very interesting course. He allowed us to choose how the class would be conducted. We chose to read books, watch films, and write responses on them (no exams). As long as you read, are in class to watch the films, and write papers to show full comprehension, you'll do well. It's not too hard. Just a lot of reading and writing.

Dr. Chow's classes were difficult, (papers, test strategies, etc.) and at times class was a little slow, but Dr. Chow cares about his students 100%. I'm a teacher myself now, and I emailed him out of the blue with a request for info, and he TOTALLY came through for me. Great guy.

This class was just as easy as my 12th grade English class. I recomend it to any freshman. You have to write at least 6 papers a semester, but they are'nt that bad because he gives lists of topics to choose from and you do rough draft workshops.
