I had Professor Burns for three classes. She shaped me into a fine writer. She was tough, but worth every minute I was in her class. She inspired me to be great. I miss her and am forever indebted to her for the phenomenal writer I have become.

Be prepared to write. This class is not easy by any standards but if you honestly try you'll become a better writer. She seems unapproachable but as long as you go to her with logical questions she can be helpful. She doesn't devote much class time to essays so you'll probably be at the library a lot. Not the best teacher; but not so bad.

I'd rather take Wozniak than her (read his ratings). Her ignorance and obvious biases are suffocating. She actually tried to educate people on their own culture, but was completely wrong and making false stereotypes and assumptions. One student dropped feeling insulted by her arrogance. Unsightly in many ways.

The worst. Rude, discouraging, irresponsible and horrible. Burns=Yuks and Yiks. Don't ever get her!!!! She only gives e-mail as contact and tells us she never checks her e-mail b/c her internet does not work. she ripps papers off just because~ the worst!!!

the only interesting part of this class was the amount of wrinkles this lady has on her face and neck. spent a several class periods watching old star trek episodes and most of our discussions were on things totally irrelevant to english. i don't think i recieved any grade higher than a C on the essays that i spent 3+ hours on. VERY hard grader!

A biased lonely hag who preaches her opinions and believes them to be credible facts. Treats students like subordinates, her pompous behavior and innate ****iness will frustrate you.
