I dont understand a lot of the comments below. She is the nicest prof I currently have, she is very clear about assignments. she does grade kind of tough, but she also gives you her grading syllabus for each assignment before you do it. and lets be real- the material really isnt that hard.

Dr. Ivey is really nice - the (few) assignments are fair and not complicated at all. She also really helps you get ready for practicum and is always there if you need help with anything!! - highly recommended!

Ivey's easy, if you understand how she works. Do the reading, be prepared to fight to the death for your opinion, because she is one of the fiercest devil's advocate I've ever met. She does it for a good reason, though, and if you make it clear to her that you are trying and learning and respectful, you'll do well in her class.

She is supercool. At least she thinks so. If you talk to her about pop culture, clothes, anything superficial she will probably love you. I never did anything for class more than 2 hours before class started and I always got an A. She is very close minded but if you pretend to agree with her you'll do just fine.

Dr.Ivey is soo awesome and for those of you who gave her a bad review I don't know where you are coming from. She is so smart when it comes to teaching, i have seriously been so inspired. If you don't like her class, then you are obviously not meant to be a teacher. There really isn't that much work and she doesn't grade hard, so stop complaining!!

Dr. Ivey is one of the best education professors at JMU. Those of you still there: She will teach you the most about TEACHING STUDENTS. She is incredibly thoughtful and will do anything to help. She is one of the only professors I cannot say a negative word about. She doesn't tolerate slackers!

She uses us as a case study... half of what she says could be summed up in fifteen minutes.. i felt more like i was being studied than i was studying.. NOT openminded... won't listen to others... flakey, workload sucks but grades semi-fair (quite picky) HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
