Grading is very detailed, your math work on exams has to be her way, exactly how she teaches it in lecture otherwise you dont receive credit for your work, even when answers are right. Attendance is mandatory, your overall grade is deducted for every class period missed or tardy. Unless you are a passionate math major I wouldnt take her class.

This class is pretty difficult but I managed to learn and understand more than I ever had in my previous high school classes. Yes, she has you write your math problems a certain way but it teaches you to not skip any steps. As long as you ask questions on ANYTHING you don't understand, you'll be okay. I personally wish I had studied more...

I love the way she teaches. I took her for math 5A,and 5B...do hw and review your note, you would be fine in the exam. Furthermore, her lecture is very clear, so we can get the main point. She helps her students as much as she can.

This lady is horrible. I dropped her and transfered to another and she complained to the school and got me put back into hers. She obviously doesn't care about student success. She gives 0's on homeworks for factoring too far even if you have the right answer. Does homework online and a hard copy. Don't see the point of that. Avoid her. Avoid her.

I seriously don't know why she is a teacher. She doesn't care about helping her students, and makes finds any reason to knock off points. It's like she doesn't want you to get a decent grade. She adds so much unnecessary info to everything and makes it that much harder. Math5A is actually really easy, but not with her teaching it! DON'T TAKE HER!!

DO NOT TAKE HER! She is literally the worst teacher ever. She'll be super nice the first few days, but after that her true colors come out. She's totally the rudest person ever & she really doesn't care to help you at all. I had taken math in HS but she didn't like the ways I taught; its either her way or no way.

I took this class thinking it would be an easy A, b/c I took a calc class in HS and already knew the material. Was I wrong! She doesn't help you at all, makes simple concepts 100x more complicating,marks pts off for everything, and grades tests really unfairly. Don't take this class unless you want a lower grade than you deserve.

Worst math teacher ever. She took points off for skipped steps or if I didnt do it her way. Would not recommand her. Took a 6 week summer course and passed with a B and didnt do any of the homework. Take Ray Stanton! I felt like Machado made us do all the homework for her benefit. We had to write out all the steps even if we didn't know what the hell we were doing! Miss a step, points were deducted. She's simply the worst math teacher I have ever encountered throughout both high school and college.

Picture this ive never gotten lower than an A on a math test in my life until i entered her class. I didnt get higher than a D on any test. She docks you on everything possible. Even if u get the answer right you could only recieve 1 pt outta 8 because you skipped simple steps. Oh yeah and i got an A in 5B and have an A in Math 6 now too.

Machado is the worst teacher. DO NOT take her. Assignments are online and hard copy. She takes points for everything possible. The tests are even harder. She does not go over everything on the homework before hand so your left with the online help which is useless. Do not take this class if you like math because it will ruin it. HORRIBLE!!!

She does have certain ways she'd prefer things to get done & she does require alot of outside class time however, she does know her stuff. Her test are based on her lecture and HMK. It's the matter of really studying & grasping the concept, not really how she grades. I'm not saying she's easy or super hard just that you gotta work for a grade
