Dr. Martin has a really bad reputation for her scatterbrained tendencies and messy office, but she really wants to see people succeed and there's no one as passionate about this course material as she is. If you aren't interested in doing course work because you don't take her seriously, then expect a low mark.

One of my all-time favourite people, hands down. Yes, she's disorganized and vague sometimes, but if you read the syllabus and listen and ask questions you'll be fine. The problem is that she's so brilliant she has a hard time understanding how a student learns! She genuinely wants to help, though, so if you have problems talk to her one on one.

I was apprehensive about taking Choral Society upon reading the ratings, but I was pleasantly surprised. She's quite funny and conducts well. The only negative is that she mumbles a lot and is hard to understand at times.

Dr. Martin is maybe one of my favorite professors I've had at MTA. She is very clear and explains what she needs to. We're at a university, you can't expect to have everything handed to you on a plate, work outside of class is almost a must! I feel bad for her because she has to deal with dumb first years who don't realize how great she is

Terrible prof. Avoid at all costs. Nearly the whole class rallied to take her up with the Dean of arts because she's so bad. This woman thinks we don't need vowels in our notes because as university students we should be smart enough to figure out the Italian terms. Terrible tests, hard marker, doesn't return assignments... Goes against syllabus...

Unpredictable. Her marking is all over the place, and the material covered on the tests does not necessarily reflect what was covered in class / where she put the most emphasis. Avoid her classes if possible, although she is a nice enough person. 2201 was an improvement over 1211, as most of the course was taught through student presentations.

Dr. Martin is so bad she makes me want to leave the music program or transfer to a different school. The expects us to know more on the tests than she seems to know herself. The marking is inconsistent and very unfair. I can't believe this woman is teaching at university level.

I have the sense that she's a good person, but a bad prof. I'm doing okay in the course, but everything I'm learning I'm getting from sitting in my room and reading the textbook, not from the lectures. She's disorganized, doesn't finish her sentences, rambles, jumps all over the place... Only thing I liked: the group singing presentations.

I have been in choirs most of my life and I love choirs. However, I absolutely hate choral society. She's not at all organized. She doesn't give us a decent warm up ever. I've emailed her three times, but she's never responded. She jumps around way too much in rehearsal... I'm not looking forward to music 1211 with her.
