Gene Wingert is a very passionate prof. He has lived in the area his entire life and has been teaching for over 50 years. Exams are pretty much solely based on lectures and labs. If you show up and pay attention you will get a good grade.

Wingert is GREAT. I am not a science person and I loved it because Wingert is such a character. Most of my class got A's. He is very passionate about his subject and very endearing.

First lab class that i took...very very smart person. the class was interesting and the trips were a lot of fun. I Learned a lot in that class. Definitely recommend it.

environmental science teacher shouldn't be human biology teacher. very confusing and didn't write on the board, but likes to draw. he knows his stuff though, in environmental. taught human biology and threw some of his environmental sciences in. didn't like.

Wingert is probably one of the most passionate professors about what they do on campus. Extremely entertaining with his cynicism and sarcasm (although sometimes confusing). He knows I swear EVERYTHING PA enviro n history. He's trying to change the world's attitude on the environment by getting you interested in it. DEFINITELY recommended

Though we did have some excellent lab trips to the Waste Treatment Plant and the Coal Plant, but otherwise he was a horrible teacher. I felt terrible when he referred to Native Americans as "Amerins" and when he, on a lab to the cemetary in Carlisle, said "These are from the Spanish American war, where we defeated those Rowdy Mexicans."

Great class! Wingert knows more about the Environment than anyone else in PA. Very biased but still a great guy. If you need a lab credit take this class. You'll learn more than in any other and its pretty easy for a lab.

This man is, like was said before, a fountain of knowlege. He knows everything that you ever need to know about the enviroment, esp. in PA. He made me take an interest in a sub. that I honestly couldn't care less about. His lectures were fun to goto solely to listen to all the facts he throws out.
