I took many a class with him and was honored to be in his last before retirement. He is so passionate about really searching and understanding, that even when material is confusing he makes it amusing. Discussions were engaging, he made me think and helped me become more actualized. He talks like him+material and knows most of it very well.Kind too

Boger is a very nice and funny guy. He tries his best to keep you interested, but in my case Philosophy is just not my thing. Definitely read the textbook, because most of the tests are on the textbook readings. The week of the test, he will give you a study guide of everything you should study. Helpful professor, tough subject.

Boger is a very nice man. He is far from intimidating, very friendly. However, unless your life is dedicated to philosophy, or your have a good philosophical background, I suggest do not take this class. Essays, and tests were very tough - though we did not have many. Three writing, one test, one final.

What he lectures on is completely different than what you read. Tests are extremely hard and lengthy. Requires several long papers. Nice enough guy, a little boring, really tough for a intro philosophy course.

This is the WORST class i took. There are 5 required papers AT LEAST 6 pages long each. The tests are IMPOSSIBLE You MUST READ the book because that is what the tests and papers are on; they are NOT on class discussion. I would recommend not taking him unless you are really like phi.

The ten papers that are required are nonsense. Say whatever you want in them but make them at least six pages long and you are basically guaranteed a 4 out of 4 and all of them. The exams are RIDICULOUS. SO DIFFICULT. He is a very nice person and his class is engaging but the papers and exams tell me that he is not worth taking.

Dr. Boger seems a little bit out there at first. But once the semester gets going, you will realize that he is a good professor. Class discussions are always very interesting, and the only real grades are the papers which he gives you plenty of help on writing.

I loved Boger. If you participate in class discussions he'll love you back. Make sure when writing reflection papers to put a lot of examples demonstrating theories and to put some of your own opinions in there also. The tests were impossible but I never worried about them cause I knew they weren't worth that much.

Dr. Boger is very concerned with all of his students and cares about their progress and grades. Difficult information to understand, as is all philosophy, but his assignments should only boost your grade. Plan on having tests be very difficult no matter how hard you study, does curve grades.

He is a nice guy but his tests are IMPOSSIBLE. I honestly guess on every single question. His lectures have nothing to do with the tests and the book is extremely confusing...I also think this guy is puffing a little too much of the magic dragon

Boger's cool. Class lectures are thought provoking and lead to great discussions. However, if you have no interest in philosophy at all, I would not recommend him. His approach to teaching isn't structured at all. To get a good grade you would have to know the material in the book front to back. If you're up to the challenge, go for it.

This class was hard. All the notes, essays, and tests were done via Angel. The Reflection Papers were easy, but the tests are impossible. If you don't read the book, you won't learn a thing.

Topic itself isn't easy to grasp - but class discussions often make you more confused than before. They have little/nothing to do with the reading assigned, and tests are nearly impossible to do well on.

Tests are a series of impossible T/F questions and MC w/ 5 answers each. In fact, some of the MC questions are T/F questions in disguise. Please do NOT take this professor. Class is ok, but you won't learn anything helpful for the tests! T/F questions are paragraphs and very confusing. You would need half an hour to understand each one fully!

He's a great guy. Discussion in class is interesting. Reflection papers are a pain in the ass and are not rewarded much at all gradewise. Tests are insanely hard you really need to know your stuff from the book. Also the stuff we talk about in class has nothing to do with the tests or reading or reflection papers. Do your reading or you'll fail.

Comment:
Gives more examples than definition, goes off on tangents, can't connect what he writes on the board to what he is exactly saying.
