Comment:
Took for my core history class. The man is a genius and knows his stuff, but boring. Stands up there and lectures at you the whole class, with no powerpoints, no projects, no classwork, nothing. Just him talking. Hard to follow because he likes to skip around a lot. If you're not very interested in the material, you will not like the class.

Bring a tape recorder because you won't catch half of what he's saying. He also mixes up dates.

Larry Jones is one of the best history professors at Canisius. He knows every detail to Holocaust events and will tell you unique facts and stories you would never have heard otherwise. Makes history come to life with his lectures. His classes are tough but a great challenge. YOU WILL LEARN SO MUCH FROM HIS COURSE!!!

Come to class with a computer as you will constantly be taking notes. It's a lecture based class with only a few assignments. Readings aren't mandatory but helpful. He knows every detail of every person, event, and year. If you're up for the challenge, definitely experience one of Canisius' best.

He can be intimidating at first. But you will like him once you get underneath his tough exterior. I honestly don't think I've ever met anyone so smart. He's critical of anwers that students give in class, but doesn't grade papers or tests to harshly. He's understanding if you can't make a due date.

Larry Jones definitely grows on you. He scared me a little Day 1 but you realize he's actually a great guy. Knows his stuff so lectures are interesting, you need to take serious notes though. Gives you a explicit study guide for the tests and he's very approachable and understanding if you can't get your work done on time. Take this class!

The first day, I hated him. He kind of scared me at first. But stick with him, and you will learn to like him. He actually is very nice. As others have siad, he talks in circles, can be hard to follow, and never lets anyone be completely correct, but he is absolutely brilliant. He's worth the effort.

If you don't like Larry Jones you don't like history. Jones is passionate about his subject and enthralls interested students. His knowledge is nearly unlimited about all of European history especially Nazism from start to finish. Attendance is never taken after day 1 but if you are not there you are not learning and will suffer for it.

This was by far my favorite course I had taken at Canisius. Jones is an expert in his field and is hands-down the best Canisius has to offer. Any poor rating he has received must have come from someone who has no interest in history. He is the best there is!

He pretty much yells his entire lecture, I often walked out with headaches from him yelling because he was so into it; Lectures are all over the place and hard to follow; Assignments are boring; Offers extra credit often and will help you with your grade if you're having problems but overall the class was extremely boring and tough.

Professor Jones knows his history. He will tell things in a roundabout fashion, but he makes his point eventually and you get a lot of information along the way. Be prepared to contribute to classroom discussion. Also be prepared for your contribution to be shot down with a terse "No." But, he's not a stickler for due dates.

His holocaust class was amazing. SO interesting and he knows SO much about it. LOVED this class. I won't lie you have to read and do well on the papers and the tests but it's worth it. He's a really nice guy too. He forced entries a lot of students if they ask early enough.

AWESOME teacher. Super nice. Knows his stuff. The class is tough and there's a decent amount of work but it's actually interesting. He is always willing to help and if you're having problems he's willing to help you out. I definitely recommend him, but you have to be willing to do the work.

Amazing teacher, he knows his stuff. Everyone who answers his questions never quite get the answer hes looking for though. His class is tough and missing class isn't a good idea. Lots of notes, but you learn a lot and he makes the class interesting.

Holocaust. This class is about 97% lecture, but Dr. Jones knows what he is talking about. There are a lot of notes, but only 2 tests and there are review sheets for them. There are a bunch of papaers due, but you get about the same grade for all the papers that you do on your first paper. You'll learn a lot as long as you take notes.

Great professor. If you are not interested in taking notes then don't take him-he lectures but it a very interesting man to listen to-he knows everything. Lots of papers on short readings;two tests; always offers extra credit>>this equals lots of grades so that works to your advantage. Wonderful man, always willing to help his students.
