Probably a good professor for disability studies but not so much as an English professor, his essay prompts made no sense and by the end of the course he was assigning blog entries as literature that he based essay questions off of. If you are interested in disability studies take him but not if you just want english course credit.

Do not take him as a Grad. prof, he will tear you to pieces. Only wants anwers he agrees with, not open-minded, and grades papers horiffically! I was horrified at the amount of critique he gives, not helpful at all. While smart, he does not clarify anything and if he disagrees with you...you better change your answer or you will fail.

Grades essays realllllly hard. A LOT of reading. But if you pay attention and you keep up it's possible to pass, and he's a pretty nice guy. Gives three free absences, but other than that, you need to give him a note from an official.

whatever you do - remember that he is an english teacher and will grade you on every small detail when grading papers! Tough grader and alot of reading. Class is boring - he needs to enjoy the subject matter more and get organized because I was bored to tears!

Great guy, funny as hell, excellent teacher... he's like a balding Kramer... big Red Sox fan so might be in bad moods after Sox lose to Yanks once again, but gets a kick out of joking with him about it

He is a good guy. Two essays, an easy mid-term with identifications and an in class essay, which he provides a week before to prep. The final is an in class essay, again given in advance. You can email him your essay and he will correct it. Do what he says and get an A. Great guy.

This is a difficult class...requires alot of reading which many people dont like to do. However the stories are actually entertaining. He is a nice guy, is friendly with students, and gives them the benefit of the doubt. Difficult grader though...

Very helpful, a little dry at first but you get used to it. Hard grader on papers (Two 5 page papers), tests aren't so bad, but if you don't read and come to class you won't do well at all. A nice guy, encourages questions.

The class can be very dry and boring, but Prof. Couser is a nice guy and a good teacher. He helps out his students as much as possible by looking at drafts before due dates of the papers and tests. Lots of reading, 2 papers, a midterm, and a final.

Dr.Couser feels threatened by intelligent students. He is VERY one sided and if you don't spit back exactly what he says in class, you will not get a good grade, if you do, you'll get an A.
