Comment:
George is the sweetest. His black and white photo class is super easy but really fun. If you have never shot/ developed your own film before you will learn a lot. If you have, the semester will be pretty repetitive. But he tries to still find a way to make it challenging and fun. He is super caring. Ask him about the community gardens in Manhattan.

George is a good guy and a concerned professor. I also enjoy his photography. He doesn't base his opinion of a student's work off of a comparison to his personal taste, rather he focuses on helping the students develop their personal style. He embraces different influences and results when teaching.

One of the best professors I've had in College. He's funny and such a deeply kind man. Even though I left Pratt due to personal reasons, he was enough to make want to stay.

Wonderful professor and wonderful human being. He is one of the kindest men working at Pratt, period. He gives very creative assignments and obviously cares deeply for the well-being of his students. He is understanding as well as interesting. His clarity is crystal and he grades VERY fairly. A pleasure to be in his class!

George is amazing!! He always respected what everyone was trying to achieve and made no bias or judgement. He always just tries to understand. If you and him love photography in completely different ways he is okay with that and thats the best part. He was extremely helpful!

George has a big heart and he is a good professor. I hear students mentioning that they feel that his critiques aren't helpful enough; but I think it might be that he's a bit on the shy side? I've talked to George about my work, 1 on 1, and he's extremely helpful and seems to feel more comfortable with that dynamic. I give George an A+.

Very helpful in the darkroom when you ask. You will spend almost every class making prints, he wants you to develop outside of class, as well as shoot (but that one's a no-brainer). He is very flexible with assignments and understands how much work you receive outside of his class.

Don't take this class if you're really serious about photography. All of class time is spent developing photos, he doesn't teach how to shoot them. Helpful if you talk to him 1 on 1. Knows his stuff, but you won't learn a whole lot unless you do it on your own. You get as much as you put in. Very lenient about deadlines. Easy elective.

He's a cool, nice, smart, funny little dude. It's impossible to be mad at him. If you are, it's probably that you're way more advanced than what he assigment (or just stuck up). But if you're someone who just needs light guide lines for your photo creativity, then he's the guy for you. Also an Excellent class for foundation photo or non-photo major

I agree with the last comment. George is a sweetie pie, but the class was a bit torturous the first few weeks. It got better towards the end, but I can't say I really learned much. George does have a pretty good handle on contemporary photography, but he lectures using books instead of slides. He holds the book so only a few people can see.

I hated the class in the beginning, but toward the end it got better. George is a great guy, but I don't know about his teaching skills. He is often unclear and the crits are kind of useless. He is bias you will get a better grade if he likes the subject mater of your work. Overall, he is nice, funny, and a bit awkward.

His class (Photo III) was nice, because I got to work on one project all semester and edit and reshoot my ideas. He's knowledgable in photo history. He has a bias and tends to like night photography, because that is what his work is.

Such a smart funny guy. Is real easygoing as far as work goes, doesn't bust ass on non-photo majors for not putting in 100%. One of those professors you don't mind hanging out with when you see him outside of class.
