This professor expects A+ effort from the class while giving D- effort himself. He cancelled 3 classes completely, Had subs for 2 more, and showed 2 movies. My test grades were 95, 95, 97, and 83. On THE LAST CLASS he tells me I might not pass -missing 1 homework assignment! What!?! He even LOST people's test grades!! DO NOT TAKE!!!

I would highly recommend avoiding taking a class with this professor. They are unclear with expectations. If you are looking for a PHL class with debate and excitement, this is not the class - your opinion will not be appreciated and you will be mocked. The professor is religious so if your viewpoints are not aligned biblically forget it.

I missed one class and he decided to give the class a take home quiz. I emailed him asking what I missed and received no response. Came into class the next day and found out about it and told him I was absent. He told me theres no make-ups and its in the syllabus and I will have to try harder on the next few quizzes/tests.

Long boring lectures, difficult to understand through a thick accent. Often side tracked, doesn't follow syllabus. The only positive was the assignments like our papers were fairly easy with lots of time to prepare. He prematurely gave us our final with no warning but let us use our phones and books so it was alright.

This guy talks a lot! Not even about the subject he should be either. He makes you write in a ridiculous format that makes papers 100% longer than they seem.

I like Doctor Kim very smart man. I would love to take him again. I had to withdraw because I was failing but he is a very honest man. If you dont like accents not your guy thick Korean accent. Dont argue with him about opinions you wont win. If you dont like hearing the same question over and over dont take him. Also speaks very low.

Does not follow syllabus AT ALL. First quiz given was on a chapter we hadn't even been assigned to read yet. Does not care to answer questions from students. During lectures he got totally off topic, once talking for 50 minutes ( I timed it) about how to say good morning in different languages (seriously). very unclear grading. Not organized.

George Kim is quite possibly the worst professor I will ever encounter. His lectures were useless, and it came down to students teaching students during weekly student led lectures. His grading is nonsensical, and he can't follow the syllabus he wrote. I would advise ANY other prof.

Extremely difficult to understand due to a very thick accent. Dropped after a few weeks because I couldn't get anything out of the lectures. When asked questions in class or by email he chose not to respond with a real answer.

Do NOT take a class with this professor. Hes a nice guy, but he is hard to understand. I had written a 7 page paper for this class. I had read 2 books, and used countless quotes. It was a phenomenal paper. Although it was there, my bibliography wasn't in MLA format. As a result of this he didnt read it, and gave me an F on it.

I signed up for this course mistakingly without checking this website. I only had one class with him before I dropped it. His accent is very heavy & hard to understand. He assigned loads of homework with one day to do it. When I went to go drop this class, the lady said "good call".. I am glad I dropped it when I did.

If you're looking for challenge, go ahead. This class is interesting but very hard. Professor definitely knows what he's talking about, however, he thinks students are on the same level as him. Speaks very quiet and has thick accent. Best solution is to record him or read book word for word. Or try to find an alternative class.

His Intro to Philosophy class should really be rebranded as an Introduction to Christian Theology. If you are looking for a well-rounded and insightful introduction to the history of Western Philosophy, you may wish to continue your search. Dr. Kim is an intelligent and passionate individual, but his lectures border on proselytization.

The worst teacher I've had in my college experience. Although he is very smart and I respect him in that regard, teaching is by far not his strong suit. He talks very quietly and at great length with a very thick accent; he's very hard to follow. Acts as though he is above everyone so don't bother asking questions in class.

Nice guy; awful teacher. Said he taught at Yale before coming back here for awhile; wonder what his ratings were there. His lectures are VERY long and VERY cryptic; if you tell him that you don't understand, he'll just explain in an equally, or perhaps more cryptic way. Wouldn't recommend. My saving grace was my actual interest in the subject.

I personally did well in this class, but only because I studied like I never had before. If you read everything assigned and study for every little quiz and test, you can ace the class. Be polite and participate in class and you will get on his good side. He can be hard to understand and it's often unclear what is due when. Good luck..

Not a good professor. His accent was strong, therefore it was hard to understand him. He has an assignment that you have to teach the class about the chapter in the book and he stops you in the middle to say you were doing it wrong. He is very rude and picks on students.
