This professor was very opinionated, and although he said he was flexible, he was not. He was extremely unrealistic in his expectations for an online masters program, expecting 29 hours a week of study, reading and discussion from working professionals. He was also too busy to grade papers in a timely fashion. He needs to retire.

Prof Lyons is by far one of the best around; knows his topic, grades fairly, makes you a better student if you are willing to work hard. While some comments have stated he is difficult, the easy class is not always the best way to go if you want to grow academically. His class prepared me well for the demands of a Duke graduate degree. Thanks!

Very knowledgable and passionate about the subject. While an extremely difficult class, I came away having a great overview of the subject. Would definitely recommend this profressor if you actually want to a base in this subject.
