I've taken Dr. Scott for a couple of classes now. As always, he is kind, intelligent, interesting, and a fair grader. The readings he assigns are extremely interesting as well. He is such a nice guy, but sadly he is retiring soon. If he is teaching next semester Spring 2016, take a class with him! 10/10 would take again :) Thanks Dr. Scott.

It has been a pleasure for me to take this class with Dr. Scott. Although the below comments are true, I think most of it is due to age, and the fact that he has a speaking condition. He revealed to the class that he had previously stopped taking medication, and therefore we started reading the outline as a class, rather than Dr. Scott doing it.

Very thoughtful professor. Course material is interesting, he emails lecture note outlines before the next class meeting and exams consist of MC and a short essay. He also offered extra credit towards the end to help our grades!

I was really excited for this subject when I enrolled in the class, unfortunately I'm not actually learning anything. He emails the notes for you to print out, and his "lectures" are him reading the notes verbatim and talking to the ceiling. If you just want an easy A, go for it, but if you care about the subject at all, avoid him at all costs

His class is so dry. No powerpoint, no pictures, and occasionally a video. He literally stands and looks at the ceiling while lecturing for 2 hours. Not a super intense class but it is super boring. Definitely need to read the fine details in the book but you get a study guide which helps.

I like this guy. Cool personality and straight-forward kind of lecture. Subject matter is boring, but that is from a science major. Scott teaches well, outlines the exams, and definitely is effective at introducing students to anthropology. Cool class.

Yes, looks up at the ceiling. He is so adorable that even though he is EXTREMELY boring you can't hate him. lectures are long sometimes and he stutters through them. often forgets things. not a good public speaker. gives study guides. loves anthro but not a good lecturer, almost no discussion

Really nice sweet guy, even though he does have a tendency to stare up during lectures. As long as you do the study guides, you're pretty much set for the class.

easy class just wait till the study guide u dont hve to read... take good notes because the midterm and final r mainly frm notes. gives u all the answers to the midterm and he gives lots of extra credit... make sure u study... just annoying because he tends to pick on certain cultures and their aspects for a anth prof

Tests are doable, on the easy side. He's a great guy. Funny and down to earth. Gives a lot of extra credit in the end so if you fail, it'll only be because you didn't try hard enough (or at all). Look over his study guides, read only the pages about topics the study guides mentions. That's all you need to get an A. No homework.

He doesn't like to look at the audience, looks at the ceiling. But whatever. Lectures are long... Book is sort of interesting. No homework ^^. Attendance is not mandatory. Though he actually cares about students passing. He let me take a make up test after finals, so I could pass the class! He really does care. From an F to a B! He's not that bad!

Easy class, easy final, 25 points extra credit at the end of the semester. Anyways I ended up with an A, before the final I had a C......1 quiz , 2 midterms and 1 final... go to class because he gets test questions there and no need to do the readings until they show up on the study guide.

Horrible presenter. Fumbles his words and stairs at the ceiling. Provides an outline to take notes on along with study guides. 1 quiz, 2 midterms, and a final all worth 25% of the grade. No homework but offers some extra credit. Expensive textbooks but you need them. No attendance required. Overall not too bad. Oh, and he'll give you the answer for any question even from readings you didn't look at all during his office hours. Helpful for long and boring readings.

There was a quiz, 2 midterms and a final each worth 50 points. He offered extra credit at the end of the semester (a video and EC questions on the final). He was a very chill professor. The subject could get a bit dry at times and his lectures could get boring. He gave study guides and offered help at office hours.

Really easy class, got an A but I'm a good student and most students got C's because they don't try. He wears skinny jeans, fedoras, says "um" 6 times before every word and stares at the ceiling, but the class is easy. Provides study guides which are very helpful. 1 quiz, 2 midterms and a final non-cumulative. Recommend.

If you want an A, take this class. I am a FOB and got an A in this class without studying that much. Before the test, just visit his office hours because he will talk about the study guide and at many times gives you an exact answer for the test. TAKE HIM! IF YOU WANT an A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dr. Scott is a really nice guy and his class was easy. There is one quiz, one paper, and two midterms and a final. He offered a lot of extra credit too, like 35 points toward the end of the semester.
