His TVRA 2616 class consists of 5 assignments mostly involving script-writing and being creative. If you can manage both, its an easy class. His sense of humor might rub off the wrong way on some, but he's still an incredible and experienced professor to take.

Rodman is a funny professor. Easy to learn from, read the chapters and do the homework from the textbook and you will be good. All homework is online and easy.

Doesn't use class time to our total advantage later afternoon class one day a week. Get ready to teach yourself, weekly assignments and mini essay question. 3 in depth unit tests which is major curved is a plus.

Comment:

Prof Rodman's humor is what made the class smooth sailing. His lectures ended early bc his instructions were straightforward - he'd show videos, give examples, discuss classmates' scriptwriting topics and opened discussion. He always sent info emails & was approachable even after hours. FYI: he is a tough critic and takes points off late papers.

He does not teach. He makes you read his textbook (that has spelling errors) yet is on top of you if you make one error. He shows videos ever class. He doesnt help He says the class is curved. Only for the students he likes. He gave extra credit to 4 students in a 135 student class. I transfer as an honor student and he messed up my GPA. Dont take

Everything is on a very dramatic curve. 3 exams, weekly homework, and an OPTIONAL final paper. If you can learn&retain info well reading a straightforward textbook this class is easy. The weekly work is definitely manageable and is completed online. The lectures are completely pointless but bearable&he does take attendance, also on a curve.

Easy course. 5 assignments no test. Just beware that you will be teaching yourself. He sends out wikipedia links on how to write scripts which isnt helpful for the assignments. He expects you to just know how to write a script which is annoying.

Professor Rodman is an amazing, easy going and understanding professor. Not to mention , there has never been a dull moment in his class. Although Professor is not complex. these writing assignments were graded on a much larger scale. I would love to enroll in another class of his!

The course, Future Media, was enjoyable. Classes were relaxed and discussions were free-flowing and intellectual. The course exceeded my initial expectations; beyond the focus on media, I gained a deeper appreciation of the future and how it can impact my chosen career. I appreciate the perspective I gained from Prof. Rodman and this course.

He great professor but you dont learn anything when you got to his class. You can only watch his great comic videos. However tests are hard, you have to read the book by yourself. He doesnt talk or teach from text book but test are based on text book and he asks all specific question from chapters

To pass, you basically need to memorize the textbook he wrote. Two tests, each on half the book. There is a curve it seems. Class was a bit silly, basically youtube videos of the chapter at hand. He is a very nice person and legit. interesting, if your going down the TV/RA path then I recommend you be acquainted with him.

One of the most easy going professors I have early encountered. He makes you feel comfortable and willing to talk if you are a shy student. You actually learn with him HE WROTE THE BOOK literally. He's very funny and helpful. Highly recommended professor

This is a great professor and I recommend him if you really want to learn. If you are not willing to do your part as a student do not expect a good grade, but if you do what you are SUPPOSED to do as a student you will most likely get a good grade in his class. Prof. Rodman is cool and laid back and fair when it comes to grading test & projects.
