The lectures do not matter in his class. All of the quizzes come from these test banks he finds online, he copies and pastes random questions from the banks (not taking into account if he taught the information), and lets you fend for yourself. The only people who are successful memorize these test banks. He teaches blue, and quizzes you on yellow.

Hes really hard to understand and doesnt explain things clearly. Also, attendance isnt mandatorh but you wont pass if you skip class. Lots of homework as well.

He's not as bad as he seems in the beginning. He just wants to peacefully lecture and he expects respect. As long as you pay attention and study from the book, you'll be fine. He's very considerate and sticks to the book.

Most inconsiderate teacher ever, I dont believe he gives any of his students a fair chance at getting an A. If you are an A student (or any student) be prepared to work hard for a B. He gives out no extra credit, most of his test doesnt line up correctly with the study worksheet. His attitude is PETTY, doesnt give no break throughout 4 hours.

everything he teaches is not on the test. you have to put hours and hours on end to study the chapter. very very rude. Only 2/30 student got an A, and 4 got a B and the rest got a C or failed. Discourages student when asking a question. laughs at "dumb" questions.

This professor is one of my favorites. He wants everyone to learn and is very helpful. If you can not understand him just ask! I highly recommend this teacher and would very much take him again if I could!!

he may be a little hard to understand, but if you ask him to write it, he will. He is extremely helpful and even if he is "hard" on his exams, he curves a LOT because he doesn't want anyone to fail and he helps a lot. I would definitely take him again and recommend him to everyone

Record his lectures and listen to them more than once it will help you pick up on his accent. He is a good prof. and I would take him again for higher Chem classes.Do your homework and be on time and you will do fine.

Professor Vannilam is the best thing to happen to chemistry since Bohr and Rutherford's model of the atom. As a student who failed out of Mich State I can safely say he's classier than the school he's currently teaching at. It is only a matter of time until he is teaching at an ivy league school. Great experience, Great prof. Loved it.

When ever he gets excited while he's teaching chemistry, you will not understand a word he's saying. He can be snappy, but overall he is alright to take. He grade with a curve, thats the only way I was able to pass with a B.
