This teacher is on his high horse and constantly lets you know he is smarter and better than you. He reminds me of a bully who enjoys making fun of people to make himself feel better. The homework is pretty much busy work and a bunch of trick questions.Teaching was obviously not what he really wanted to do and he is VERY bitter about it.

He said the study of history has no methodology -- just say whatever you want to say and it's O.K. "Political Science is 'bush whack.'" I guess that's the only way he can believe what he preaches -- he does not have to support it with facts or reason. There is no logic. Why do we get the Harvard rejects to "teach" us? zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

If you are a hard working, good student, his class is a breeze. If you are the slightest bit lazy, Vasquez is your worst nightmare. Rude and arrogant. Finds somebody to pick on. Gives out packet that takes forever each class. Amazing credentials. Harvard grad. Incredibly knowledgable. History department chair at SJ State. Take at your own risk.

This teacher can be a jerk and will yell at you if you cross the line. Within the first week he will find someone to yell at to intimidate the whole class. As long as you do your homework and watch what you say, you will get on his good side. You do learn a lot once you get past his power trip.

He's such a jerk to the women, especially. He needs to retire. He is old school and students don't respond well to his method of "motivation via insult". Plus side-he knows his stuff and shows lots of great documentaries. Tests are not hard and come from a study guide.50% will drop out.

Before taking the class,a prior student advised me to stick with the class no matter what my first impressions might be. Many of us that stuck it out through the intimidation routine have considered taking Vasquez again. His credentials are incredible.

I can't argue the comments. He can be a pompous, lazy, arrogant jerk. Ironically, I have learned an enormous amount in this class. He OVERLOADS you with work, so that's probably why. I could have learned it on my own by just reading. He gives no support.
