Awesome prof! He didn't try too hard to be funny or add alot of bs. He simply presents the info in an organized, easy to understand manner. It takes work to get a good grade but if you are interested in history, he's the guy you want.

Great teacher. Doesn't like it when people leave early, he will call you out. If you take good notes and do the study guide, you'll do fine on the tests. My TA was also very easy and nice guy, can't recall his name at the moment. Go to class, it's mandatory via signature. Don't take notes of his powerpoints alone, write down what he talks about.

I took his course on the History of Religion in Modern Europe. Lots of reading and involved reading response writings every week. Keeps the lecutres interesting with visual aids. Great teacher who is passionate about history.

Dr. Williamson knows his stuff. He explains the material so that it isn't dumbed down but it isn't inaccessible, either. I hate long powerpoints and his are the best-- just simple outlines. I LOVED going to lecture but can't stand the discussion class! TAs like to be really harsh on attendance.

Most organized history teacher ever. Gives study guides that has ALL of the topics that will be on the test AND the discussion questions. Easy test if you will study. I don't know why his ratings on here are lower. People just expect everything to be handed to them. EASY I PROMISE.

Great professor, as good as its gonna get for a history class, however 90% of your grade is determined by your TA. Sounds great, but he picks people that are inexperienced at grading and take pleasure grading harsh. Would have been a great class, except for the TA. Would not recommend this class because of that, I pay for a professor, not a TA.

My favorite class yet - excellent professor, just a really excellent educator. Absolutely knows his stuff, and loves his stuff, but clearly has a life outside of it. Very dry and quick - more aware of pop culture than you'd expect. Overall a really wonderfully done class. Highly recommended to anyone majoring in history, particuarly as a jump-off.

Best history I have ever taken. On average, there is 1.5 hours of reading per class meeting. His approach does not give a single view to any historical event; rather he presents you with documents and makes you draw your own conclusions. Very helpful and insightful. Shows several movies.

Dr. Williamson is amazing. He is a very lovable guy who takes his time to teach while keeping things interesting and stimulating. If you ever need something explained in a clearer fashion, he commits himself to making you understand whatever it is you are having trouble with. He adds a spunk to the classroom by adding humor and factual tidbits

He's pretty difficult when it comes to grading but he makes the lectures interesting. If you don't like to do a LOT of reading then don't take the class. We had probably 6-8 books we had to buy, and trust me, you'll use every single one of them.

Read alot, take copious notes, and study hard. He's not easy, but if you work hard, his classes are very rewarding. Probably the most intelligent professor in the department, he's a true intellectual, but down to earth enough to make material accessible. If you're ready to work, take his courses.

He's pretty difficult. Lectures are all over the place! Don't waste your time reading the books until you get your paper assignment. Check Wikipedia for terms he doesn't give you for the quizzes! Seems to only like and be helpful to true history majors.

Read a lot, write a lot, learn alot. Tests are a few identification, two short essay, and one long essay. Much outside reading with 500 word responses to questions on the readings. Also you are assigned two papers throughout the course. Fair grader. I enjoyed the class and would suggest taking it.

Great teacher! Will help you if you need it and you will leave the class with a lot more knowledge then you went in with overall. Most of his upper classes are two days lecture and one day of class discussion of the material.

I must be taking a different George Williamson than all these other people. He's a nice guy, but absolutely, completely boring. I thought a class on Nazi Germany would be really interesting, but it is not. I hate it and that makes me sad.
