Didn't follow the syllabus at all! Graded way too hard. Expected single-spaced everything. When the paper was single-spaced it wasn't in her eyes. Expected to read a large amount of articles but never discussed them. We watched a lot of movies and never discussed them. 2 tests. 1st test all but 5 people got a c or lower.

I LOVE George. She is quirky, SERIOUS about her syllabus and is a tough grader. However, she is passionate about about she teaches and if you actually do the readings, study, pay attention to lectures, and TAKE ADVANTAGE of her office hours you will do just fine. She is tough on students because she wants you to succeed! I took Sex and Gender.

Took her INTRO soc class freshman year and almost failed. No sympathy, no feedback on assignments. Lectures make no sense either. Turned me off to sociology completely at this school. Amazed she's still a professor here.

I had this woman for Intro to Sociology last year. She once gave me a D on a paper and wrote halfway through "I'm done reading this." Those were her only comments, besides "font" at the top, which was Times New Roman, which is what she said she wanted according to her syllabus. I don't recommend taking a class of hers.

If you are a somewhat organized person who values your grades and likes to know what's expected of you, NEVER take one of her classes. I always ask for clarification on instructions because they make no sense. She teases me for being stupid, then never answers the question. The useless 15-page syllabus should have been a sign to drop the class.

I am at school to learn; this class taught me nothing. AND she completely changed the the syllabus without telling anyone !! 20% participation became 33%. RIDIC

She is a horrible human being who does not know how to teach. I got an A on all the tests but got a B in the class, which makes no sense. When I asked her about my grade it took 6 weeks of emailing, calling, and showing up at her office to get a reply of "there's nothing I can do about it." Her classes are a waste of time and money.

She seems very nice and the class itself has a very relaxes atmosphere. She is an unbelievably tough grader without justifying herself. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. it will destroy your GPA and you won't learn anything you didn't already know.

worst professor I've had at IWU. a nice person as long as you don't question her assumptions. very closed minded and disrespectful toward students who disagree with her. generally disorganized, no graded feedback until the last weeks of the semester.

Awful teacher, she should not be anywhere near a University. I have no idea how she even got an advanced degree. Completely incompetent, unprepared for class and incredibly judgmental. Her grading appears to be very subjective and final grades look as if they were based on who agreed with her. Do not take a class with her, it will be awful.
