Her prelabs are very informative and sometimes actually interesting, and only every other week. The labs are more challenging and much more independent than 101/102, but I felt like I got a lot more out of them in return. Attending prelab lecture and do your prelab preparation well, and you'll be fine.

Most of the other comments are from probably people who did poorly at want to blame someone other than themselves. Weinstein's not miser as they paint her to be. She was usually cordial with me. (Probably because I didn't screw up every 30secs)Pre-lab isn't the most informative, but I went anyways to make sure nothing changed from the manual itself

Comment:
I had professor Weinstein as a lab director for Intensive Orgo. Not a pleasent experience. She did not like the class or us, and constantly belittled us and compared us to her 203 classes. She constantly changes the lab procedure and almost never uses the book in 211. I would recommend splitting a book with a few friends. Don't buy your own.

Scariest little old lady I have ever met. She was looking over my shoulder during one of the labs and I almost had a panic attack. I never bothered going to her prelab, I never needed it. Orgo lab is infinitely more difficult than gen chem lab. Be prepared to work hard and stand for 3 and half hours.

Comment:
Weinstein seemed very angry in CH204. When approached for help, she would often yell at the student rather than help them. Once, an IR machine broke and she blamed the students for not being able to operate the machine properly. I didn't learn very much from this instructor.

Comment:
Weinstein is certainly not my favorite professor but her prelabs were informative, which is the important thing. The lab exam was hard, but that's life and usually if you got a bad grade in lab it was your own fault considering the book explained each lab fairly well.

Lab is easy, so if you don't get a high grade, you can't blame her. However, she is still the rudest, meanest, and most incompetent faculty member in the chemistry dept. She lost my friend's lab and called her a liar! When the truth came out that Weinstein had made a mistake, she made no apology whatsoever. Easy class, awful instructor.

Comment:
Purposely unhelpful and vague. Irritatingly curt and discourteous. Syllabus is the biggest mess I have ever encountered; ridiculous system reduces clarity to the point where it is practically unintelligable. Sets lab rules about clothing, then doesn't enforce them for students of her own gender.

Orgo II labs were much easier than orgo I labs. You don't need to go to lecture. Just get the sheet outside of her office and read the lab carefully before going to lab. If you screw up mixing solutions or overheat - you will lose A LOT of points - so becareful. Don't rush to get out.Lab reports are pretty simple. IshanPatel/Larry Luch are good TFs

OMG! Most annoying voice ever! Very rude and condescending when you get to know her. She won't help you if you don't understand something. She expects you to know everything.

very effective in pre-lab lecture but her lab exam was awful. gives you chemical structures and will change one tiny element so you can't even distinguish it when you only have an hour for her ridiculous 35 questions. hope that you luck out on a good TF.

i see what the other people are saying, but she is the lab prof. you see her during am once an every-other-week pre-lab and lab, so if they say her voice or some other absurd thing is annoying it is ridiculous, dr. weinstein is brilliant, she will take the time to know you if you appreciate her help and work with her, w/o her i would've a lower ma

First, I'm not one of the angry students that got a bad grade in orgo, I did fine and I just want to say that Weinstein should not be allowed to interact with students. It seems like she's nice at first, but not one on one. She's rude and condiscending, must think highly of herself but lacks the ability to teach. Just stay out of her way

This woman is such a little puta! so uptight, i wish someone would do her a favor and remove the pole up her ass so she could relax. Very antisocial, don't even try and be nice she looks at you as if you smell like major culo which probably explains the usual look on her face.

I think she's great! Her voice can be annoying, but she explains all the concepts clearly and tells you exactly what you need to know for the pre lab. The lab exam may be difficult, but if you study for it and understand all the labs, youll be fine.

She tries, and does explain the concepts during prelab lectures, but all I heard was whining and it's incredibly boring, no offense to her. And don't shake her hands =)It's hard to get an A in lab to up your grade, but a B is piece of cake. Lab exam is hard, but not bad if you understand the labs before you do them instead of just copying pre-labs.

honestly, go to the prelabs and you'll do fine, because she basically tells you everything to you need to write for the lab. she's very helpful if you approach her. people seem to not like her because they are bad at labs and don't like her voice, but that's their problem. at least she PUTS IN THE EFFORT for her students.

People seem to hate this woman because they suck at lab. Go to pre-lab, do the pre-lab, and everything's easier. Yes, her voice is sometimes grating, but mostly it's amusing, and she knows her stuff. Post-lab must be thorough because the TF's are instructed to grade hard, so pay attention.

Very accomodating for schedules, has a great sense of humor in pre-lab - doesn't make you feel stupid when you ask questions. A lovely woman. I can't find out why she has the rep she does. She's a stickler for safety, - you have to be when dealing with corrosive chemicals. Watch out for the TFs, though. They grade you on grammar and punctuation.
