I took History of the Black Press with Professor Jordan. Professor Jordan is a wise and knowledgable man. His class was interesting, but it was him talking 100% of the time. Class isn't mandatory, but if you go he will he will take that into consideration when giving you a grade. There are just three papers you have to do for the class.

Comment:
Prof. Jordan is really smart and cares about journalism, but he also expects students to interpret what he means. He put a book on the "optional" list and then said we must read it for the tests. So then we all had to buy it! He doesn't like that journalism is becoming more online, so he doesn't teach us about it

Professor Jordan is an incredible instructor, but if you're looking to learn about the newest, most innovative ways to report, he is not the instructor for you. Professor Jordan is committed to traditional reporting and fails to adapt to students' ideas for new ways to do old things.

This is my favorite professor. He knows what he is talking about and has plenty of experience in the field of Journalism. If you are a journalism major you need to take classes from him. He is not an easy professor so don't expect to slack off. However, you won't regret taking him!

Jordan is hands-down the BEST teacher I've had at the UA. I took News I and Editing with him, both necessary classes for any journalism student, even ad/pr. Promise. He's fun and, especially when he's mad, funny. Awesome teacher and person. You NEED to know him. Go to his office. Chat a bit, ask questions. He'll remember you forever.

Editing with Prof. Jordan can be tough. There's so much to remember. But if you do the work, study your book and practice memorizing AP style, punctuation and grammar, you'll do fine. But, don't ever miss class or you'll pay for it!

His nickname is "Coach" but he should be called "Boot Camp Instructor." Nothing you do is ever good enough for him, so you end up a seasoned journalist by semester end. He's extremely lenient, helpful and funny, and his class has no format whatsoever, just talks about the good ole days.
