His Roman history class in 1965 was terrific, setting me off on a lifetime hobby interest in ancient authors , archaeology exhibits, historic sites.

It was an easy class, but extremely boring. All he did was read his notes for an hour. You could get away with only showing up to class for the study guides and reading the textbooks prior to exams.

I took him my last semester, never went to class, just for the study guides. The material is interesting but his voice makes you fall asleep. Take him if you have the chance, easy A.

Very nice guy but very old and gave unbearably boring lectures. I took Roman history with him and the lectures were just non-stop one hour regurgitation of minutiae without any real structure. Nonetheless the lectures weren't mandatory and the grade was only based on a midterm and final test. Ultimately the class was easy to pass but very boring.

Definitely take a class with him. Probably the most knowledgeable professor on campus in history. Does sometimes read out of textbooks, but he only reads from ones which you don't already have (aside from primary sources). Very interesting and informative.

Kadish is a legend. Even though I'm not a big history fan and I found his lectures boring, I came to appreciate how much this guy really knows. He's been to many places around the world and he tells about them during lectures. He will retire at the end of the Spring 2013 semester, so if you have a chance to take a class of his, I would do so.

Dr. Kadish is the smartest professor on campus in his discipline. Lectures can be dry, but it's fascinating to be listen to someone who knows so much. He is very helpful outside of class and wants to see his students do well. Take the next possible class you can with him. He is retiring soon and a class with him is a great experience.

the most adorable little old man professor this school has to offer. easy tests, too (gives you study sheets). lectures are beyond pointless though, as 90% of what he does is reading out of the textbook or is directly in the textbook.

Reads directly from the textbook, so the only reason to go to class is the study guides which tell you exactly what to study. Two essay tests during the semester and a final that is two essays that are graded separately, making four total tests.

not a hard class but it sucks. you will never experience boredom like you will in his class. i stopped going after 4 weeks, went to all the discussions, and pulled off a b with minimal effort. one 12-15 page paper sucks. again, most boring class/professor ever

Easy class but going to class is terrible. He knows so much but he just lectures for an hour without notes or powerpoints for students. Really hard to follow but reading the textbook is just as good. You don't need to go to class, just study what's on the study guide before the test and make sure you're a good writer. Relatively easy to do well

This man is a true historian, and sometimes he goes off on stories just because of how smart he is. Look at his course outline topics to understand what the lecture is about and disregard anything he says not relating to that. The Perry book is important, you don't need the txt if you go to lecture. He will either bore or fascinate you. Fair grader

Kadish stands at his desk and speaks for one hour, sometimes reading from the assigned reading for the day. Notes are completely up to you. He has an old man's drawl that makes him impossible to listen to for an hour straight. He basically knows everything, literally, but not the best professor in the world. I just can't stay awake!

Dr. Kadish conveys a solid understanding of Ancient Egypt. Frankly, from Kufu to Cleopatra, he's the guy. I think a trip to the Valley of the Dead would be a real interesting foray with his expertise. I know thing I never wanted to know about Egypt.

Overall, I thought Professor Kadish was dry, boring, and unorganized. Granted, he is a walking encyclopedia, however, he does not present this material in a learnable fashion suitable for most students. A handful refused to show up, another handful fell asleep, unfortuantely, I was the student who forced himself awake, sadly, it didn't pay off.
