Comment:

Dr. Long is one of, if not the best, Biology professors at FMU. He is funny and always has a story to tell. He only gives three tests, but does not try to give trick questions and almost always gives a curve. You must study ahead of time! If you listen to what he says and study the lecture notes, this is an attainable A+ with effort.

Best Biology Professor I had, Had him for both lecture and lab. Don't need the book but make sure to WRITE EVERYTHING HE WRITES AND SAYS and you will pass. Test were a bit hard but easy enough. Professor Long was out due to some surgery during most my class but he was an overall great professor. He only gave 3 exams and a final and sometimes he give a little bit of a curve. If you study you'll do good. I didn't study as well as I should of but I still came out with a C. If you can stand his corny jokes and monotone voice, you'll do fine!

Excellent Professor!!!!! He only gives 3 Exams and a Final, but if you study, you will do good. Start studying when you get the information because Bio 106 is mainly how good you can memorize the stuff and if you study ahead of time, the stuff will stick. Go to lecture, because everything that's on the test is on his powerpoints.

I've had him for a few classes and I can remember a lot of the information from each. I love his "grannie stories." They help you retain the information. He's easy going and he do not wish to fail any of his students. One of the best professors here at FMU. I would take him every semester if I could. Its never a dull moment. You'll enjoy his class.

Dr.Long is a bit of a strange character and has an off beat sense of humor. But hes an EXCELLENT biology teacher. Hes also willing to help his students any way he can. His tests are not easy, but they aren't impossible either. You just have to really study your power point notes and know details.

Ok, dont be fooled. This class is NOT easy. However, he gives you everything you need to do well. You HAVE to know details to do well in his class. Test are not super hard, but you can easily get tripped up if you dont know the material inside and out. Just being able to recognize things wont help you. And cramming will get you confused.

I took really good notes and made a star when he repeated information. What he repeated was on the test. I went the entire semester without a book. His stories are interesting, and during his office hours he gives you cool techniques as to go about learning the information. Don't count on leaving class early.

His words were "I never want to see a student fail". I had a C+ in 105 and got an A in his class. You have to study details though to get an A. He will help you with anything you need and always makes you feel welcomed in his office. The number one person to take for 106, HANDS DOWN! The test questions come right from the notes. Great stories also!

really passionate about biolgoy. he has a story for EVERYTHING. he takes attendence everyday. he test are 30 multiple choice and 4 dicussion questions. test is straight from notes. notes are powerpoints. he tells you the discussion question before the test. Great Professor, one of the best in the Biology department! Study the power point slides and you will pass the tests (and they are easy tests). A few of the essay questions on the test will come from the book, so that is the only time you will use the book. Passes out a roll sheet so don't miss too many days.

So easy! He tries to be funny and crack jokes, but they are very ammature. No joke; he is ALWAYS going of subject and tells stories during his lectures. Notes are strictly PowerPoint and easy to understand. He's a very nice guy, and you'll enjoy the class. If you don't like listening to his stories then bring some HW to do!

This class was extremely *boring*. It's hard to make plants interesting, but it was fairly easy (just study the powerpoint slides & pictures for the practicals). Tests are not bad if you study, and he sometimes gives you a few extra points. Bring something to study during lecture to keep you awake.
