Geog 357 was an engaging course. Very critical and important issues were raised and fun discussion, readings, and lectures. Pratt is friendly and easy-going, but yes, a bit cold during office hours.

Really interesting material, but her stuttering really drove me mad. Also, the marking was left to the TA who was super harsh. Professor Pratt seems nice and rather genial and easy-going during lectures, but she was a bit cold and rude when I went to see her during office hours. Seems to pick favourites.

I found her disinterested and disrespectful towards student input to the point of rude. Sadly, she killed my interest in the subject matter. I don't care how smart someone is - we pay to be taught, not sneered at.

Positive: smart. helpful when I asked questions. patient when I kept coming back. Negative: she stutters like crazy & it's guarenteed that you leave class feeling as though you should've stayed home instead of taking that 1hr bus ride to school. Final exam was extremely hard considering you feel as though you hardly covered ANYTHING in class!

It's amusing how clearly intelligent yet ridiculously ditzy she is. She knows her stuff, but the lectures were very unorganised, and the final exam was unecessary, redundant, and hard. The T.A. Caleb was awesome - very helpful with the report and readily available for office hours. The course was required, and that's the only way I'd take it.

Professor Pratt is intelligent and articulate although she can come across as a cold person. She is willing to help during her office hours although she is one of the those professors who would be expecting the student to leave after helping. She does act a bit ditzy and uses a lot of feminist case studies that can make a lot of students bored.

OMG, DONT TAKE THIS CLASS! She is such a bad prof! When you go see her on her office hours, she isn't there. She is NOT helpful. Her explanation suck. She stammers a lot. Her class notes are extremly unorganized, and exam is extremely difficult. GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN!!!

Do not take this class! Its a waste of time and money - She is so unclear and very ditsy. She rambles on and on. She comes off as a 13 year old girl trying to talk to a guy who she has a crush on. Oh my god! I hated this class. Would have learned more if I had read the text myself!

One of the better courses at UBC. Pratt is a bit cold--perhaps more brain than heart, but she rewards intelligence and effort. I loved her lectures-very open ended and engaging. Could really be considered a cultural studies course. Take it.I learned lots!
