Dr. Guest is by far the best art history teacher at the school. You need to take an EGC credit so take it with Guest. 2 exams and 2 papers and they're virtually painless if you pay attention in class. Any old reviews do not stand true to my experience and I would easily take him again.

He's your best bet for Art History. 2 tests, 2 papers and online homeworks. He jumps around the powerpoints a lot which is annoying but other than that he's a solid professor.

Instead of memorizing technical dates and names and ignoring the heart of art and history, he teaches heart of art and history. If you like art history classes where you memorize dry data, you won't like this class. If you like art history classes where you apply critical thinking and enjoy projects, you'll enjoy Dr. Guest's classes.

This guy is single-handedly the worst professor on campus. This class was probably the most boring, waste of time in all four years of college. Not to mention his choice of material covered in the latter half of the class was a drab.

Loved him as a person and teacher but he is a bit scattered brained. He teaches through PowerPoints and often skips slides, but then goes back 5 slides, etc. Fair amount of work but he is an averagely difficult grader. Trips to the art museum every week in the honors sections. Really is very knowledgeable. Recommended class if you like art.

His class is very boring and he is very scatter-brained. He jumps around all the time and is impossible to follow. Papers are impossible to get A's on. I always submitted a rough draft before hand and never got higher than a B on a paper. Take a different professor.

He can be boring at times, but I liked the class overall, he knows his stuff. The cool thing is he doesn't give tests on memorizing facts/slides. The class is 3 papers (avg. 5 pages) all of which were easy, and then a final which is all short answer, again, easy. He tests you on overall impressions of art...not slides! High recommendation :)

The course is very boring, but there are only 4 papers...no tests or final, so I guess the boredem of his class makes up for the little work.

I hated this class! It was impossible to stay awake when he shut off the lights and droned on about art. His papers were impossible to get A's on, even when I turned in a rough draft beforehand and revised it. Find another AH professor to take.
