The class was interesting and she is really helpful, but the tests are incredibly hard. Id study a week before the test for hours, review my notes after every class, & read the text and articles. If youre not willing to work extremely hard I wouldnt bother taking a class with her. She expects you to work to your fullest potential and then some.

Dr. Grossi has very high standards but she is by far one of my favorite professors at New Paltz. Shes so funny and truly cares about her students. You have to pay very close attention to what she says in class and read the textbook. her tests are very very hard but if you study the textbook and powerpoints you should be fine

She's a really nice person and you can tell shes very knowledgable in her field but the exams are ridiculous. If you take a course with her, make sure you right down every piece of information that she says down, because those tiny details will be on the exam. I don't think the material is that hard, it is just impossible to do well on an exam.

She lectures in detail. Write everything she says down (it's on the exam). Do the online quizzes (she drops the lowest 3, do not count on this, I would take a picture of the questions at the end). That is just for practice, they are not repeated. Do the reading! Make study guides (using syllabus) before she gives it out and put in your class notes!

Everyday for class is a lecture and she posts the PowerPoint online after class. She gives out study guides but her tests are impossible to pass because everything is extremely in depth. You write lots papers and she makes many comments about everything in your paper. Even Using her feedback she always has more to comment about the each paper.

Pretty sure she said this is her first time teaching intro to psych. She seems to teach at a much higher level then you would expect an intro course to be taught at. The only grades we have are tests and quizzes, but the tests count for 85% of our grade. Extra credit is available, but don't think it'll help much. Wouldn't recommend for intro.

Very nice person but a tough teacher. Grading is all or nothing -- you either get the concept word for word or you more than likely got no credit. Lectures are pretty concise and I usually walk out of class with an understanding of what was just taught but the tests are super super hard and threw me for a loop. Had her for physio psych, steer clear

By far my favorite professor. She is extremely intelligent and she will make you work so that you do learn. Her tests are tough, but she is a great teacher who will go above and beyond to explain something to you. She has an Italian accent which takes some getting used to, but it's still understandable. She's quirky and makes the course interesting

Dr. Grossi is a brilliant woman and expects her students to be very independent and to want to learn. It's a tough class, but totally worth it if you learn the material. I am taking her developmental cog neuro class this semester purely because her classes are intense and difficult, but definitely not impossible. You learn so much it's worth it.

To do well in this class you must consistently review the material. Quiz yourself. Dr. Grossi is very competent in her field and if you put in effort and go to her office hours for any needed help you will learn much.

I cannot say enough bad things about this professor. She is rude to and speaks down to students. Going to her office hour is almost useless because if you do, you will only get very vague help from her. To give you an idea about how difficult she truly is,I think I can say that I got my only "C minus" grade with her (overall GPA was a 3.52).

Absolutely amazing. She really makes you work, but you'll learn a lot. She knows her stuff and if you ask for help, she will. She makes the class pretty enjoyable considering the material. I definitely suggest taking her for research methods.

Had her for Physio which was a hard class for me, but I also signed up for her Research Methods class despite my hard time in Physio. She is BRILLIANT. It was hard, and I didn't get an A or B, but I learned and that means something. She treats you like an adult and expects for you to do your best--all professors should want that. LOVE HER!

Dr. Grossi is a teacher who will spend as much time as it takes to for you to understand something if you go to her with questions. If something isn't clear, she will try to explain it in different ways until it clicks. Work hard and you will do well. She is very precise ad incredibly knowledgeable - one of the smartest professors I've had.

Funny, friendly, enthusiastic, extremely knowledgeable- a great recipe for a fantastic professor. She expects A LOT from students, especially for you to step up and think like a scientist ? if you're not willing or able to rise to the challenge, don't take her. If you are, you will be rewarded. Her class caused me to learn and grow so much.

Smart woman. Terrible teacher. She is a REALLY tough grader. If you're taking research methods, PICK SOMEONE ELSE. You do NOT want to go through what I went through in this class. I never tried so hard in my life to get such a poor grade. You will NOT get an A. You're lucky if you get a B. Also, very heavy Italian accent..good luck.

A real professor. Very passionate and loves teaching people who want to learn. If you could care less, don't bother taking the class. Challenging work, but you will get out what you put in. Probably the most inspirational professor I had while I was in school. She is an exemplary scientist!

She teaches a hard subject and tries to clarify it. She puts the slides on bb and she is very nice and helpful. Go to her office hours if you dont understand it. Three tests and 5 quizzes which should help your grade as they are easy and help you study. Just do the work she is the best person to take for this course. and sit you close shes quiet
