Great class and excellent professor. be sure to participate, even if you are completely wrong she won't say it or embarrass you. make sure to read the books and attend class, if you do that you shouldn't have to worry about any other work for the class, so it doesn't take up much time. ENG112 is prob more interesting than other classes, take it!

first class i took after switching to the english major. i'm quiet and shy, and was called out on it daily. Huge chunk of the grade is a group presentation and if you don't interject into other members' topics, you are penalized. I really looked forward to this class until it became constant persecution for not thinking/speaking as she does.

Be sure to read ALL the books!!! The first few weeks were boring but it will pick up. Make sure to be up to date with reading because you read a lot, don't fall behind! She gives over 10 quizzes and takes the top 10 scores of them. She also gives extr a credit.

She is an okay teacher. However the class she teaches is horrendous. Class grade is based on 10 quizzes and 3 exams. The final exam is not cumulative. You have to read 7 novels throughout the semester and sometimes over 100 pages a night. Its a lot of work but she is a fair teacher. If you're willing to do the work, the class is an easy A.

Professor Cardiff was the best instructor I have had yet. She was incredibly helpful in her responses to papers and very willing to assist students who were struggling. Very friendly, approachable, and engaging. I really enjoyed her class.

You will need about 6 books for the class and make sure to read every single book and handout. There's easy pop quizzes on the readings, 2 midterms, hw, a project and final. The more you participate the better. I got a 4.0 for keeping up with the work and studying for the exams and giving my opinions in class. Good class.

Professor Cardiff was a good professor. Her class is very interesting, we read about six novels most of them are actually really good! Class grades are made up of three exams which are mostly essay questions, a presentation, in class quizzes, and participation. Overall I would recommend this class but expect to do lots of reading!

This class isn't as easy as people make it out to be unless you are one of her favorites or have the same insight as her. If you go to talk to her why you received a 0 out of 10 on an essay that had detail and answered the question, she'll say it wasn't what I was looking for". She is fantastic. She's really helpful and not condescending at all. The work is not overwhelming, and she is very clear. You have to take good notes and pay attention, but it's not hard. Honestly, take her if you have the opportunity. It was my favorite class.

OMG I have had her for 112 and 400 and she is the sweetest thing in the world! Always willing to help a student out, I took good notes in her class and only read 2 out of like 6 or 7 books and still got a 3.2...Eng 400 was probably the best experience i've had at school!

plan on reading the rest of the semester..7 books. Make SURE you do the reading because she randomly calls on people to answer questions. The whole class is discussion and her tests are essay. have A LOT of detail in your essays or u will NEVER get above a 2.5 on her exams. I liked the class, but she is a rather hard grader on the one paper we had to write.Many of us had NO negative remarks or very minor ones and still got zinged on our grade.I got 95 on 1 test & aced the other and the final. She gave me a 2.4 on the paper.Even with extra credit, I only got a 3.8 in the class.Hard grader,but nice lady.

In this class you learn a lot about Native Americans through their literature. We only had to read 3 books, a couple of essays and several poems. You have to write one paper and take 3 tests. Over all it is a good class and a good break from traditional European style literature.
