Prof Perez was my Spanish 102 instructor at PCC Sylvania and I really learned a lot from her. She set a side some time to help me with my lessons that I was having difficulty with and I noticed a vast improvement in my writing, listening and speaking skills in class. Too bad she is not teaching SPA 103.

As the head of the second year Spanish department, I have to say that Perez is useless. Every single time I sign up for a Spanish class it's the same tired old routine. There is a constant switching of class times and teachers, and the students are never notified of changes. This is highly annoying. PEREZ NEEDS TO FIGURE THIS OUT.

Seems to have the job not necessarily because she is good at it anymore, but just because she has been there forever. Very disorganized, it is difficult to tell when things are due or if anything is due, she is supposed to turn the papers back so that we cann correct them as part of our grade, but she hasn't turned anything back in weeks.

Worst Spanish teacher I've had. Maybe I should rephrase that...she doesn't really teach. She expects you to do all of the learning at home, then be tested on stuff you never even learned or went over. If you don't understand it, she treats you like you are stupid. She can hardly speak English, which makes it hard to ask questions. DONT TAKE HER

Gladys is the most rude teacher ever! She is not clear and can't speak english well enough to communicate. her lip gets sweaty when she yells at you and she made fun of our spanish plays, which sh gave us very amigious directions for. At first I thought she was fun, but then I realized how her being disorganized and messy was getting in the way of students understanding and getting good grades. She also has a tendency to make fun and belittle her students. If you don't know her already and you are not friends with her, choose a different professor.

IF you are interested/enjoy learning Spanish then Gladys is not the teacher for you. I had her last term and she was; confusing, disorganized, difficult to understand because she didn't speak english well... She was rude and totally out of line in many situations. Everyone I know that had her last term has improved a lot with a new teacher!

She comes to class and tells us that we have to read out loud to our partner. Mind you, there were 20 students reading out loud to each other, so that made it VERY difficult to comprehend what you were reading. We were to comprehend what we were reading, because in 10 minutes we would be tested on the information. Set us up for failure!

Avoid Perez!!! I'm tired of being treated like a 6 year old. Paying for "higher" education should mean that you don't have to go to the front of the class to ask a question in English because you couldn't understand a Spanish teacher who uses words students have never heard and doesn't speak English well enough to understand their questions.

She will not allow you to use your book while you are in class. That is the most egotistical thing I have ever heard. She wants all the attention on her. I pay for my book to use in class and out.

She is a really rude and mean teacher. She starts the bringing of the class by saying we are all her babies. But, though-out the year she picks on us and continues to bring us down. She wastes time in class by "Scolding" at people for buying a certain dictionary or for looking at the other side of an assignment by accident. She’s a horrible teacher

You would think that she would be more understanding about learning another language since she struggles with English, but instead she makes you feel stupid.

Comment:

Wow -she doesn't speak English very well, and this can make the class extremely difficult. Sometimes she doesn't understand students' questions and she can't really explain things well because she doesn't know English (in my case, subjunctives). But always excited about teaching. Intimidates many students, lots of people dropped quick.
