I took him for Invert. Zoology and it was awesome! YOU HAVE TO STUDY! If you want an easy A, look somewhere else. If you really want to learn, take his classes. He TEACHES, but will not baby you. GROW UP before you take his class. Exams are very detailed so study every bit of your notes! Great professor!!! :)

I thought Dr. Gleason was great! If you study the book with the notes the tests are not bad at all! I got A's on all of them! Attendance is not mandatory, and he gives you the oppurtunity for bonus points if you go to SI. Take him!!

Comment:

Dr. Gleason is a pretty good teacher but his tests are incredibly hard! I dropped the class after making below 50s on the first two tests. The online homework isn't to bad but when studying for the test, use your notes AND THE BOOK! He's not a very boring lecturer but the class itself is not easy at all.

By no means an easy grade. Tests are very specific and you have to study every detail of the notes/read the book if you want to pass. No wiggle room for your grade, and basically no help during office hours. He tries to make the class enjoyable, but the class usually ends up bored and distracted.

I took his lab course and he is extremely passionate about marine biology. If you are at all interested in a science career he can help. He is super nice and his lab is fun! If you are scared to dissect things you should think about another class. He is an amazing professor! TAKE HIM!

Alright professor. Lectures aren't very focused. Notes for the test are pretty much all on the powerpoint. Always study his notes alongside the book. Helps a lot! His tests are pretty hard but manageable.

Hard. Little to no wiggle room as far as points. The test are no joke you can study and still fail. Ive walked into and out of test confident I scored well then finding out I made 60 something. So much material to cover every test and most of its not on the test.

Class was a little dry at times, but Dr. Gleason brings some of his own accomplishments to keep us interested. Best method I had for studying was to read the chapter ahead of time and then review the FIGURES and notes simultaneously with the book.Processes from figures he cited in notes were always on the test.Not too hard. Final is not cumulative

Dr. Gleason is a great professor. He does not intentionally trick you on the tests, most questions are straight forward with a few to boggle your brain. If it weren't for Dr. Congdon the first half, I would've had an amazing grade. Warns you before quizzes--which are an easy 100 if you do what you're told. Highly recommend!

Daniel Gleason is not easy but not hard either. He makes you apply yourself but doesn't make it impossible. If you're trying to decide if you want to take this class, make sure you have ran completely out of easy choices. If you do take it, just know that you will have to study alot and take notes. No memorization...you must understand.

Dr. Gleason is a tough teacher, but in the end I learned a lot. Hes a goofy guy with an outdated sense of humor which made class a little interesting. His labs are SO HARD, hes a VERY tough grader so id recommend someone else for the lab portion.
