He greatly values hard work and making efforts both in class(with participation in the discussion) and outside of class(taking the time to actually do the readings). He definitely won't baby you. If you ask him about his grading criteria and what he wants to see from his students, he won't be vague about it, at least from my experience.

The comments here are ridiculous. He is mild mannered and friendly, and as far as I could tell did not take favorites. Also, he is always extraordinarily well prepared for class, and is very intelligent. The 'no-bathroom' quirk is real, though.
