Dr. Martin is a very good professor. I loved his class. Something to plan ahead for though is you will be reading a few books, and one being his book. You have to do 'journals' which is assigned where you read some stuff from books and some from files of D2L. If you have to miss class just email him a reason and see him after the next class.

He's obviously a super nice guy. He's a harsh grader. There arent any test. But you're expected to keep up with the readings (which he wrote the book so it's "mandatory") and write almost 1600 words every two weeks or so. It's alot of extra outside classwork. For a class u legit go to physically and get bored from the lectures

Very unspecific in grading. You might get good marks for something on one paper, then get poor marks for the same thing on another. Also teaches all topics from Wittgenstein. Philosophy of religion, Wittgenstein. Philosophy of Language, Wittgenstein. Had us read a textbook about Wittgenstein's attempt at architecture, for a class on language.

Take this class if you actually like philosophy or thinking. There is groupwork often but some people are only there for a requirement. Lots of people think he is one sided but that's untrue he covers a variety of ethics before reaching his fav Holism. Does make you read quite a bit but he doesn't give tests only essays, the longest was 1000 words.

Dr. Martin is a nice guy but all he does is make you WRITE WRTIE WRTIE! If you don't like writing papers DO NOT take this class. He stopped giving tests and quizzes as a whole so he could just assign papers. To sum it up, no tests or quizzes just PAPERS!

The final for the class consisted of very specific quotes from many different people taught over the semester, along with general ideas. The quotes wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't that pretty much every person said the same general thing, making deciphering who said what rather difficult.

Worst class I have ever taken. Dr. Martin is overall a nice guy, however this class is HARD. It's all about readings and taking notes. If you don't take notes, you certainly won't pass. His tests are extremely hard too. This class is definitely not what you would expect. Oh, and all he talks about is how awful our U.S. government is..

This professor is the worst ever. If you enjoy learning bullcrap about how the United states is the worst place ever and how the only good thing in life is helping groups of people no ones heard of, id suggest this class for you.

The class is his personal soapbox. It is an utter mystery how Radford can justify funding his world journeys for peace and hatred of the United States. He also forces students to buy and read his book which is full of utterly improbableimpossible suggestions for world unification. Take this fella only if you prefer to daydream rather than learn.

Dr. Martin is a brilliant man with very well-developed ideas and beliefs. He is, however, very passionate about them and tends to spend classes lecturing idealism instead of course material. He does not have tremendous expectations for students in writing but there was a presentation due every other week that was graded strictly.

Nice man but horrible teacher. He doesn't go over anything that is required by core but does belittle you if you have a belief in any higher deity or support out troops. He wants a socialist country. He does care very much about the environment and those who are truly suffering.

Very nice man but hard quizzes, but this is college, so not surprised. Does have a 1 sided view and is very passionate about it. Unfortunately, if you don't agree then you just need to buck up and write things how he wants them.

I took this 100 level class while doing an internship. it was the most worthless class of my life. Martin should not be allowed to teach. Radford should review the opinions he throws at students without factual support. THE WORST TEACHER I EVER HAD AT RADFORD.

This professor is one of the worst i have had at Radford. He preaches all day about how the US is training death squads to kill civilians. He is extremely liberal in his teachings. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. His quizzes are impossible to do well on. He should not be allowed to teach.

Very dull teacher and class. Every class is almost the same where he is just rambling on how the United States trains killers in the military and how evil we are. Takes attendance almost every class. Online quizes and papers are from the 4 textbooks he makes you buy. Can be helpful and understanding though if you miss an online quiz.

The entire semester is him talking about his opinions and views. From what you talk about in class and his tests are complete opposites. And the online quizzes are difficult. I would not take this class unless you want to argue with him the whole time.

Martin is a super radical liberal. The entire class was used to preach his beliefs and talk about how bad the United States is. We were continuously pounded with him talking about how bad the United States is as a nation and about the "Spaceship Earth"

This class is hard, all you do is read a bunch of random articles. He puts up timed quizzes which are impossible and posts assignments on D2L that are due so quick you don't have time to blink. Very very radical liberal.
