Comment:

The class was like 2 and a half hrs long but if you want an easy A, this is definitely the class to take. You don't usually stay the full class time, you get out 30 mins early. She's pretty understanding about late assignments and laid back in this class. I completed my papers 2hrs before class starts and would end up with an A on it. Very easy!

Great class! Not to often a white lady can pull off teaching an African-American family course but she did it. It was fun and got us all excited about our culture.

This was an online course (Spring 2012), I made an A- pretty basic concepts. She assigned a TWELVE (12) page paper, due in April. Seemed very rigid in emails..only has emailed class 2x since the beginning of course. Very dry personality, it seems? Pretty fair grader. You must login regularly and complete the work. An A or B is highly attainable.

Took her for an online course. Not sure what she expects because she does not grade papers until the end of the semester and does not answer emails. My advice to anyone taking her class would be to be as thorough in your answers as possible. Tests are essay questions. The material is often not in the textbook.

I love Dr. Hanks classes. She is really helpful and is very interesting. Her tests are time consuming and will make you know the material, but they are not that hard if you have read the assignments. She uses papers and projects that are interesting and fun!! I love her and will take her again.

Dr. Hanks is an excellent professor, she will go out of her way to help you with the assignments. But do not think she is easy. You will work!!You have to do the work, the projects and the papers and have them in on time. I made an A in each class and am taking another one this summer and fall.

Good luck knowing what she wants! Its a mystery! Class consisits 3 text books, 3 test (each is on twelve chapters), reaction papers, and she does not lecture. Very boring and vague! When she talks she doe not make a point! Stay away from this class, not worth it!
