McKnight is an interesting guy. He sets his class up to be really fair, and then grades extremely difficult. He assigns 20+ page article readings every single night, on top of book notes. His exams are fair in theory, but graded very difficult. His lectures are also SO boring, and they don't really connect with anything you read in the book.

Glen is a proper narc in every sense of the term. This guy cares about heavily about his lectures but not about your GPA. Talks a lot about riding his bike to school.

History001 is and Intro class and often an AOI, but he does not understand this. His class is extremely demanding with 20 page articles being assigned almost everyday. Dont bother reading the textbook- dont even buy it. You wont have time with the articles. His tests are essays and its one question about the articles and one about the lectures.

Don't like essay tests? K, don't take this class. He grades hard. Very long supplemental readings on top of pages from the book to read. Lectures are boring. He is to detailed and expects people to remember every little detail from history. He is not specific on what he wants. Gives a map quiz and marks everything wrong if its not 100% accurate.

Honestly this guy expects you to be the master of all things history to pass an entry level history class. There is so much reading and he goes so in depth about things that don't even make sense. The tests are difficult because it is CLOSED book and he expects you to prep for 9 different essay questions. WORST CLASS.

You will not do well in this class if you do not do the readings. You will not talk about them in class, but it is very beneficial to take notes in the margins so you can refer back to them. There will be a midterm and final with 2 essay questions. He will give you 5-7 questions in advance so try and answer them in.

He is very intelligent and informed on his subjects, unfortunately lectures are extremely hard to follow and beyond boring for most students. His grading system is also extremely tough as your final grade is based off of very few assignments, so if you get a bad grade on one your final grade is very much altered. Not an easy A.

He is very knowledgeable, but extremely boring. Take this class only if you like to work extremely hard for a class that does not go towards your major. He is a very hard grader for an AOI class. I took history of SSA and it consisted of reading 50+pages daily with online reading quizzes, 1 in class essay, a midterm paper, and a final paper.

He is so boring. He knows his subject well but he doesn't understand that everyone taking this class is taking it as an AOI requirement. He makes it much harder than it should be for an AOI. I would think it were a higher level course. He is a tough grader but gives you a clear study guide.

He accused me of plagiarism because my essay sounded "too scholastic for an undergrad". He bases the final grade off of two tests and an essay. The amount of reading he assigns is astronomical. Take another professor at all costs. Mother of God, TAKE ANOTHER PROFESSOR!

Unclear and accuses students of plagiarism if his/her essay is "too good". Save yourself some time and take Esposito. The dude has a mullet and considers himself a mental giant when all he has studied is haitian revolution, which is summed up in a single article.

He is a very hard prof. but if you just show interest in the subject matter and dont act like a fool in class he will make things much easier on you. Overall I found his class to be very informative and hes a cool guy to talk to outside of class too.

Class is all lecture with A LOT of notes. There is a fair amount of reading, about 30-40 pages per class. There is a map quiz early. Then midterm and final, which are essay. He gives you a selection of possibly questions to study from. Only graded on quiz, midterm, final and participation/attendance. Class can be long. I didn't really try & got a C

Dr. McKnight expects a lot out of his students, but the class is not impossible. I'm not a history buff at all, and got an A in his class. Just do the readings, take notes during lectures, and ask him when you have questions.

The only grades in the class are a quiz, midterm, and the final. Don't dig yourself in a hole early and make sure you keep up in your reading, or you'll get lost very quickly. Tough grader. The class is all lecture and he tends to ramble and get a little boring. If you read and pay attention then you should be able to pull out a decent grade.

Professor McKnight expects a LOT from his students, many of which are only taking the class to fulfill an AOI. All tests and quizzes are essay-style and he expects incredible detail in your answers. Your grade is based on a quiz, a midterm, a final, and an optional paper that may or may not end up helping you. Homework is reading 40ish pages/day
