His lectures are super caffeine driven which makes me a little on edge, but he gives you everything you need to make an A-- you just have to work for it. Very helpful outside of class and pretty funny. Very interesting class

I took him for the Honors Breaking Boundaries course (Ethics and Professional Health Care). There were three main assignments that determined grades: a vocab + short answer exam in the first half of the semester, a mock ethics debate group project, a book presentation group project, and a 4-6 page Illness Narrative essay. Beware long lectures.

he talks a lot about the assigned readings, but ends up going on a tangent about other "ethical" occurrences, which in my opinion get boring but thats just me. his class is really easy to deal with, but I just feel like its a waste of my time. however, he is a great professor who really shows his interest and passion and really does a lot to help

He wears amazing socks, and you won't see him wear the same pair twice. Only a one-hour class a week. His INQR course was all about ethics and morality. We did a lot of debates, and although we only meet once a week, the whole class had gotten to know one another by mid-semester.

Prof Weiss is a great teacher. He is interested in the material and makes it interesting. If you participate in class and ABSOLUTELY do the study guides, you will do great. He's always willing to make time, if you need it, and there are only like, 3 total tests plus a paper. Loved the class, loved him! I'm taking another of his classes Spring2014.

Great teacher. I wasn't going to take Philosophy as a minor; but after taking his class, I will. He doesn't try to complicate things.

Dr. Weiss is one of the best professors at ASU. He's very intelligent and passionate about his job, and involves interesting anecdotes into his lectures. Will assist you after class if you need help with the material or if you want to chat a bit about anything. Would definitely take again.

Dr. Weiss is usually highly caffeinated, so have your pen ready when he exhales sharply and enters the room. The material was somewhat interesting, and much more in depth for a 2000 Level class. I did learn a lot, however. He is fair.

A little quirky, yes, but he is a great prof. Very passionate about his classes and his students. He DOES NOT like it when ppl are rude in class (leaving early, not showing up when you're due to present, etc) but who does? very considerate and understanding provided you were a good student. tests/all essay, but gives study guides - grades fair

Run away!!! He is rude and full of himself. His classes are boring and he is always comparing his ASU class to his MCG class belittling us as students. He has a very smart mouth and if you try to speak in class and he does not agree he will make you look stupid on purpose. He also tends to tell stories of irrelevant issues to the subject at hand.

DON'T leave the room! he went postal one day about that. He will put people on the spot so at least know whats going on. Not a hard class if you study. Hand writting is unclear on the board and he talks fast. Read, do the study guides (they are the tests), and do the extra credits

Weiss is the man. I felt bad because there were a lot of shy people in my class who wouldn't interact with him, but he handled it with good humor. The class itself is not difficult at all. The papers are a bit challenging, but the midterm and final are a breeze and you can make up huge ground with the take-home assignments.

A professor who is very knowledgeable and passionate for the subject. He answers any questions with so much more knowledge than you intended to find out. You will read more here than any other class you will ever have. Read, write, discuss, think, and you'll do fine.

Really quirky dude who refers to himself in the third person regularly. Lots of experience in the field of Philosophy, though, and he makes the difficult texts a lot easier to understand. Easy MC, T/F, short answer midterm. Two 2-3 page essays. And a final, similar to the midterm. Difficult material, but he makes it easy to learn.

Interesting class. Weiss is brilliant and funny. Mini exams of about 30 questions broke down in t/f, multiple choice, and short answer. Papers are three pages long. Not too bad. Challenging but interesting.

Weiss is a great teacher, but the class was boring...and the class was easy. all you got to do is read the articles for the 3 papers.. and use the study guide notes for the answers on the mini exam. do his extra credit its not hard. he is very fair when grading. i barely read anything & got an A. there is no reason anyone should get lower than a B

Weiss is awesome. He's a tad neurotic but funny. Don't be intimidated by the material. You don't have to completely understand it on your own (or even read it all for that matter). Use his notes. They are extremely helpful for exams. Essays are ridiculous, however. He seems to only give out B's.
