Great teacher! His lectures are long and contain a lot of information. If you pay attention and study hard for all his exams you'll do great. You have to put in the work and can't expect his class to be easy, you honestly have to study all the time because this isn't high school anymore this is college and he really makes you understand that

Gamst seems like a nice person and he's also funny, however, I wouldn't recommend taking his class. I took his course based on all of the reviews on rate my professor, however, I found that his class was extremely difficult. He doesn't allow you to have a laptop in class, you have to handwrite notes that come from his mouth. The tests are very hard

Gamst is an amazing professor and one I was glad to have my first year. He is all about lecture and writes everything word for word on the board which helps when taking notes. His exams are mainly based on lecture and you can get away with not reading the book if you memorize his notes and answer every short answer correctly. Will take him again

Gamst is a great proffesor. the notes are basically the Test. Not a tough class but grades based on tests. If you study the notes youll be fine.

I really enjoyed this class. It's basically notes all class long and he assigns a chapter or two to read by the next week. Almost every class we quickly skim through previous notes just to test whether or not we were paying attention, but it's not too bad. There are only a few test throughout the semester, no quizzes, and no homework.

Gamst is by far the best professor I've had so far. He is intimidating but just come to class, take notes and KNOW YOUR NOTES and you'll pass with a good grade. Be warned you cannot coast through this class because his reviews are torture if you don't know your stuff. Tests are all open answer so memorize your notes and you'll be fine.

I must say, Dr. Gamst is an intimidating professor. However, I learned so much ini this class! The class is made up of lectures, exams, and one research paper. His exams are difficult because there is no multiple choice. The answers of the exam are in the lectures. Take good notes, go to class, and memorize your notes and you will do fine.

Professor Gamst is awesome! He seems very deadpan and stern but he's actually really nice. He's cool and messes with his students sometimes. Memorize your notes and you'll ace the tests. I would take his class again in a heartbeat! Great professor.

I can't say enough about Dr. Gamst!! In my humble opinion he is one of the BEST professor's on campus...Not for the weak!! Yes, you must attend class, yes, you must work your ass off, however, if you're willing to put forth the effort (as one should be) than Dr. Gamst WILL contrary to some of the above posts, help you succeed. Brilliant teacher!!!

He's interesting and educated and I learned a lot in his class. Your grade is made up of tests, all essay questions come straight from notes (his lecture), just study them and you're good, not hard. A few multiple questions from text, also simple. He's definitely one to take if you're interested in psych and plan on always attending class.

He's a great teacher, articulate, eloquent, and explicit in his explanations. His writing is very difficult to read but not necessary, he says everything he's writing slow enough to write down. It's not mandatory to attend but you can't pass, all of his tests are on his lectures and nothing is ambiguous as far as test material. Fun class!

Everyone complains about his writing, but the truth is, you don't even have to look at the board. He speaks slow enough for you to write as he speaks. He has a great sense of humor (dry, but good) and he's a great teacher. He really knows what he is talking about. Don't take his class if you cant make it EVERYDAY!
