He is a very funny person, but beware. Midterm is indeed long, and if you are not a great writer, he would grade you according to how you put the answer. Not so much for easy homework, but if you are up for the challenge go ahead

Such a great professor, very down to earth and explained everything thoroughly, a couple of assignments, two exams a final and a research paper. Class was pretty straightforward. You actually have to do work to get an A but the class is chill and easy, worth it at the end.

Prof. G is great. Nice guy, funny. He is clear and his lectures aren't boring at all. He uses real examples and always keeps it interesting. His assignments are tedious but do-able/ Take home midterm and final and this is the only time you use the textbook. Great class.

Very good professor. He makes things clear, uses good real life examples (which ends up as the Knicks being made fun of), and his sense of humor makes class fun. Take him if you can, you'll enjoy it.

I recommend this class to all. Professor Gerstner has been the best SPM professor I have had at St. John's. Really opened my mind more to the business side of the sport. Analytical thinking. Tests are easy and I didnt study for one. If your passions is sports than this is the class for you. Not really sure why this person below wrote that, sad.

Very easy going, knows his stuff. The materials were presented clearly, though the tests were a little tough and were graded tough. Very good, otherwise. Note: this was a class at Hofstra.

Thought at the time his grading policy was a bit high schoolish, but its a fair trade for his awesome lectures. With his wit and stories he takes the most complex economic theories and breaks it down to a level that you can comprehend. Which is ideal for non-eco/business majors to grasp.Just keep his lectures in mind when doing the asssignments and you'll be fine.

One of the best profs at SJU...can't use your laptop in his classes but it helps you pay attention. You don't need the book...just print out his notes which are on ppt and bring them with you. Tests are essays but they're easy and the project is easy too. E-mail him any questions and he'll always answer them for you. Glenn Gerstner is the man!

He's very funny and very fair. You don't need the textbook too much because he puts the notes online and they outline everything you need. Tests are answering essay questions, which is fairly easy if you've paid any attention in class. Don't worry, it's not difficult to get an A. You also have to do a presentation or make a website if you're shy.

You can e-mail him any questions and he'll always answer them for you too. An easy A, and you would be hurting yourself if you went here without taking him.
