Glenn Holland is an amazing professor. He is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about the material. He is able to make it fun and interesting. He is a hard grader but gives good feedback and is very willing and accessible to help when you need it. Also, I strongly encourage you get to know him outside of class, he is a very interesting person.

Professor Holland is such a witty and caring man. His classes are hard, but enjoyable. Prepare to write and read a lot, as well as participating in compelling class discussions. Definitely recommend!

Holland is the most caring person I have yet to come across on campus. He is witty and funny. He genuinely expresses care and concern. His class made me feel relaxed and at home. He always had insightful and interesting things to say!

The problem with Professor Holland was that, in the beginning of the year, I really liked him and the people in our class. He started out as personable, funny, and helpful - great guy. Then he just turned obnoxiously pompous and rude and I looked forward to the end of class because I'm pretty certain he didn't like me either. Really quite a shame.

Great Professor. He is an extremely intelligent guy. His class was very much a discussion. He really knows how to involve the class. very funny dry sense of humor. Graded easy as long as you satisfied what was asked of you. Every paper you write gets edited by him and a peer so revision is really easy and guarantees you a good grade.

Holland is a very understanding man with a lovely dry sense of humor. his class can be boring at times but goes smoothly if the reading was done by classmates. He is my adviser because he is willing to work with students who actually show interest. very approachable and an all around good guy. if you keep up with readings then class is very easy.

Professor Holland is one of my favorite professors at Allegheny. He is very personable and makes the material relatable. He showed hysterical short films and related mostly everything to pop-culture in some way. Good man, good advisor, good time!

Extremely boring lectures that covered potentially very interesting topics. Quizzes were fair and helpful but exams NEVER covered the main topics discussed in class. Funny professor if you pay attention to lectures though.

The class was not that exciting and the fact that all of the points came from a take home test did not help very much. I ended up getting a B and put a good bit of effort into the class. Grading didnt seem consistent because papers I really worked on received a lot of criticism and by the end of the year when I stopped caring my grades went up.

He knows A LOT about a very wide variety of topics within his field and knows how to make it interesting. His classes move quickly because his notes are structured well and presented clearly. Although 250 was mostly lecture, he tried to engage the class quite a bit. Pay attention and you'll see he's actually really funny too.

He is a very good professor. Very funny. Somehow he manages to make ancient greece and rome fun. All tests are take home essays, but not hard at all. Basically its fun to come to class and its a pretty easy A.

Worst teacher ever. Lectures are extremely dull and uninteresting. Doesn't use a single visual aid. Quizzes and tests have nothing to do with the main points of the course material. Jesus Christ himself would get a C in his class on the New Testament.

best lecturer at Allegheny. Really goes by the "a 'B' here is an 'A' anywhere else" stereotype. He is hallarious, in class, and loves people who are willing to challenge and engage him. Probibly one of the smartest people i have ever met. LOVED going to class.
