Comment:

Prof. Guevara's class is a mixed bag. If you raise your hand while she's speaking she gets visibly annoyed, which can be off-putting. Be prepared to read A LOT if you take her. If you take a few minutes get to know her, she's very amiable. Class discussions were lively and engaging, and probably the best part about having her as a professor.

Stay away from the online 355 course. I am a good student who actually puts in the work and I struggled all semester to keep my grade. I never missed an assignment. She gives too many quizzes in a short period of time and only allows you a week for a 5-7 page paper for both the midterm and the final. DON'T TAKE HER.

DO NOT take this Professor. I took her for the POLS 355 Online, and she is the worst. 1. She is incredibly disorganized, her Canvas itself says everything. 2. She gives you 2-3 quizzes a week, and a week before final she decides to give you 5 quizzes a day everyday for a week. 3. She is incredibly hard to get a hold of, and will ignore your email

I really wish I didn't have to take this class for credit. I've done really well in all other online courses, and I'm good a good student. This professor make it really difficult to do well. Her tests purposefully trick you, giving you 2-3 right answers for each question, when only one is the "best" answer. This course is a headache. Run far away.

Took her in my first semester and I must say she was definitely cool! She is super straight foward and generally has some interesting lectures/discussions. Just beware, she doesnt like getting interrupted!

Took her online polisci 350. There are many chapters to read each week and many documentaries (although very interesting) to write feedback on. The expectations for essays are very vague and difficult to understand. The midterm and final are also difficult with lots of trick questions. She is extremely helpful though if you reach out to her!

Only recommend this class to students who don't bother going to class, don't take if you really want an A. She posts all her power points, documentaries, midterm, and final on canvas. Most of the stuff on the test on are based off the PowerPoints. The tests were hard but she ended up curving them, I went from a D to a B- , cant complain never read.

Do not take her! I would go class and all she would talk about is her political views. When it came to her DIFFICULT tests, NOTHING she spoke about in class was on there. Her essay questions were difficult. In short, don't take her! She treats this class as if its a higher division class. Ridiculous. Goodluck if you end up having to take her!

In this class there is no homework or quizzes, no extra credit opportunities your grade is all based on two midterms and the final. She shows videos & notes but found most of the questions were not based on what she taught it was based on reading from the book! The book is super expensive and I barely used it :( wouldn't recommend

She gives vague criteria for the test material.. She expects it on the major level, not as a GE. One of the midterms was 100 questions in 120 minutes with LOTS OF READING for the questions and answer choices. I never got to review my answers before submission. Also, she only teaches half of the lecture hours.. REST ARE VIDEOS..........

Professor Guevara is a good professor. She's nice, but some may think she's mean but she really isn't. She's a mixture of funny, nice, and mean. Her class depends on 3 tests, midterm 1/2, and the final. You definitely have to read for the tests because they are long but they are ONLINE which is great. I'd take her again if I could.

This class is so much work, and she is unorganized so it makes it that much harder. The due dates for assignments are all over the place, and she takes forever to post grades, so you don't know how you are doing. Excessive amount of busy work and biased documentaries, avoid her if you can.

The only class work is work with a group and disused the reading. However the grades are based on 2 multiple choice exams and 3 essay exams. The 2 multiple choice and 3 essay paper is due online. She only curves your final grades when you come to class often. So just in case your in the border line of passing and you want pass come to class.

Took her online class for POLS350 and let me tell you that it was nothing but an unpleasant experience. Everything was unorganized and she posted grades very late. The whole semester I was unable to figure out where I stood and what my grade was. Avoid her if you can!

She knows more than Hilary or anyone else, BUT lacks work ethics and professionalism when it comes to arriving on time, making the class interesting, and grading,,, it is def possible to get an A since she curved the grades but you must put effort + address every detail addressed in 3 essay questions. Plays videos, assigns chpts to read, mediocre !

In a very important (mandatory for MA) methodology course, professor spent most of class relaxing in the back while class did "research" individually. Never lectured on the material. Didn't learn ANYTHING about research methods. Favored students she had before. Assigned random presentation grades(hurting most students). Condescending, lazy, nohelp.

Terrible professor, she had no communication with the students AT ALL. The most unorganized online class I have taken out of about 15, she has almost no relationship to the course, does not email EVER only the first day of class, takes months to grade papers, confusing tests that ask specific questions, need the book but it won't help on quiz-RUN!
