Comment:
I'm a senior Human Geo major struggling in this class because the exams are unnecessarily specific. Mult choice exam format really doesn't work for me despite being pretty learned on the subject. It's hard to prioritize memorizing obscure geography facts over my upper-level classes. His Australian accent is cute though.

Good workload, go to discussions, they're worth 35%. Take this if it's a social science requirement, easy A. The prof is old & adorable, he's always so happy. Exams are multiple choice, true/false. TAKE NOTES IN LECTURE, a lot of the tests are very specific, but just take notes on vocab, read the book for political understanding. Drops lowest exam

Dr. Walker's lectures are unorganized, outdated, and don't have a theme. Discussions were unnecessary. The tests are tricky and very specific. However, he is adorable and if you just read the textbook and go to lecture you'll be fine.

I love this guy. Only an easy class if you actually pay attention and read the book. Discussion were fun and easy. This was probably my favorite class at BU just because Professor Walker is just so adorable.

As a senior, Walker is one of the worst professors I have ever had at BU. He is a nice man who clearly loves his subject, but he is a terrible professor. His lectures consist of a string of random points, rather than having actual cohesiveness or content themes. Exams are obscure & specific, don't actually test knowledge of overall themes/concepts.

I slept through nearly every lecture, did half the reading, and got a B+. If you actually care about your grade, pay attention in lecture and you should be golden. Also, while the tests are straight out of the textbook, they're mostly common sense.

Worst Professor i have had yet at Boston University. Tests are not catered to anything useful whatsoever and are a waste of time, so is this class. Built for IR majors, but required for education majors.

Walker is decent, but he's kind of old (70s) and it makes him out of touch. Lectures aren't that interesting, and he's been using some of the maps/articles since he started teaching (in the 60s. wtf). Exams are ridiculously easy though. The TA is an arrogant jerk and discussion is useless, but mandatory. Easy A but the class could be so much better

I really didn't enjoy this class that much...the lectures and discussion get boring and I fall asleep sometimes in class...The exams are fair, just work closely with the textbook and materials he hands out.Generally not a bad class, but I wouldn't recommand if you don't have any interest in geography.

Professor Walker and his Aussie accent were a delight to my spring semester! The class, though sometimes dragging, is original and creative. A 3 ring binder is a must because he hands out a ton of papers. His exams are very easy multiple choice so long as you've read the material and been to class. His class is catered to those who attend.

This guy is fantastic, he does cut early in the summer, I would definitely recommend his lab course over the summer about atmosphere. The labs are supposed to last 2 hours 2 nights a week, but he just gives you a 3 page worksheet to complete, really easy
