Professor Drabik is by far the one of the most passionate people I have encountered in my life. She genuinely enjoys what she does, which is connecting with her students by exploring the arts of NYC. I highly recommend her if you want to be in a class with a motivated professor.

Professor Drabik is very passionate about the arts in nyc, and after taking her class, I can definitely say I've never understood and appreciated art as much as I do now. I'm glad I joined her class, which was just an incredible way to start the day at 9:30 am. Take her if you want a fun class that will make you fall in love with NYC. Strongly rec!

Professor Drabik is a sweetheart! At first she gave more readings and overtime the class became more interesting and discussion based. I truly enjoyed the material we tackled together as a class as well as the time we spent on our outings. She is an amazing professor that gives excellent feedback and is a true inspiration.

A little hard to understand but you'll get used to it. Talks a lot... It's the type of class where you just fall asleep, participate sometimes, and you'll be good. Interesting readings...& she's very passionate about what she does. So, not bad. Go for it!

You can tell she loves what she does! Prof. Drabik is very passionate and always makes for interesting discussion, she also cares deeply about what her students have to say. She is a bit of a tough grader, but if you actually read the books and participate in discussion you'll be fine, she does give some extra credit occasionally too.

Very passionate about the literature she assigns. She does give a lot of reading, but most of it can be circumnavigated as she discusses it at length in lecture the following one or two days. She is sometimes difficult to understand, but is generally a fun old lady who, at the end of the day, wants you to succeed. She is a fair grader to boot.

Professor Drabik does come off as very passionate and interested in her work but when it comes down to it she kind of comes off as a condescending and petty professor. If you don't think and answer the way she would she will 'correct' you in a way that suggests her way of thinking is superior to yours. There is also a lot of reading so be ready.

You don't do much in class. Just pay attention to her as she talks about the books. Remember what happens, what it means, give good insight in them. She does give group work but it is easy, just write down what you think. Overall easy.

She's a lively professor who truly loves the subject she teaches. I liked the class material she chose; a selection of short books and poetry as opposed to a single textbook. She does seem to favor students who participate often. But if you at least do all the readings, you should be fine.

She is a very passionate woman, very wise too. The class was enjoyable, make sure to read all of her assignments so you be engaged in the conversation. As long as you stick to the readings, it shouldn't be difficult to get an A.

Professor Drabik is such an educated woman who really pushes all of her students to take part in classroom discussions. There is a lot of reading involved but, a majority of the novels are really interesting and will appeal to you more after your in-class discussions about them. Overall, just read and participate and you will be fine.

Very enthusiastic about her class and lectures. Her accent makes it a bit confusing and difficult to understand. Tries really hard to keep the class engaged. Really nice, but grades a bit tough. There were a number of books to read, 4 papers. Not bad or that hard. Recitation section is a big help- they usually grade the papers. I do recommend her!

Offered insight and is understanding. She pays close attention to her students and knows the way they work in her class. She cannot be fooled; don't BS her work. She's a fair grader and gives a decent amount of work. All her book choices are interesting. Overall I love the classes she taught. I've had her twice. Prepare for a fun semester!

Amazing, insightful, caring professor! Always prepared lectures with thought-provoking questions that made everyone in the class voluntarily participate in class discussions. Each week there are readings so just make time for them so you can join the discussions and learn something new about the world & yourself.

Lots of reading on immigrants but they are enjoyable enough books. I honestly showed up for only half the semester an received a B+,but I regret not being there for the deep class discussions. She encourages independent thought and her quizzes and "hw" (rare) are not tough, as long as you've read the stories. Takes suggestions for finals!

This Prof is great at presenting good material that highlights the struggles, pain, and accomplishments of the Immigrant experience. This was a big class and she remembered small details about her students long after relating readings to their life. In your assignments, your voice and what you have to say matters. Read and have a say; she digs that
