Comment:
Greg Ferrell is on the level of Carl Root as one of my favorite professors. He also makes class time entertaining with his jokes and funny stories. He can get a little distracted at times, but he also really knows his material well. As far as homework goes, there is a paper due every Monday (1pg or less) and his midterm/final is take home.

Good guy. This class has critical thinking assignments due every week, DO NOT SUBMIT THEM LATE. Always says he's going to take attendance, that lasts for like 2 weeks. Material is easy, it's an upper-level class so he doesn't hold your hand. NEVER HAS CLASS ON FRIDAYS. 2 tests, so make sure you pass them. Tests are online.

He always says attendance is mandatory, but he stops taking it after like 3 weeks. He's funny, and loves talking about current events. 2 textbooks were required, they're cheap. Never any homework, 2 tests; so if you fail those, you fail the class honestly. Great guy, funny stories.

Professor Ferrell is pretty funny guy, but can't concentrate on teaching sometimes. There are 7 critical thinking exercises and 3 tests. You get participation points, if you don't irritate him. You'll learn interesting facts about the criminal justice system and you don't have class on Fridays.

I really like Professor Ferrell. We only had 4 tests and three writing assignments which were only 3-5 paragraphs not essays. He makes it extremely fun and he's a really cool guy. He's funny and he likes it when we get into discussions. He will work with you.

Pros: He is funny in class and doesn't have class on Friday. Cons: Tests are absolutely impossible, they are all online but you can't find the answers in the book and he does not go over class materials in class! He gets mean when you email him a question. Never keeps up with his Blackboard. Good luck if you take him, I won't ever take him again!

He's cool, laid back and pretty funny. Tests are impossible if you don't do the reading and answers are hard to find even though it's straight out of the book. Posts Powerpoints on Blackboard that are good guides for reading the sections in the textbook, but don't rely on Powerpoints alone. Gives some extra credit opportunities, not many.

Greg is cool in class. That's about it. Other than that he doesn't really teach you anything! Don't ask questions via email he gets so mad if you ask him something that he's been over before. He will take it out on you. His tests are so hard over stuff you can't find. Good luck

Greg is nice and cool.. his tests are insanely difficult! They are online and even with the PowerPoints, notes, and book you still wont be able to find the answers.. and he does not even go over the material specifically in class he just rambles on about random things that are not part of the tests. Also the tests are really your only grade.

Took Greg for PLS 414 and 415 and i wish i could take the classes over again. Such a nice guy and such a great class. Every day he just rants about current events. When he isnt doing that he is covering power points. Participation is key. Show up, get involved in the discussion, don't sleep, and your guaranteed an A.

I hate Greg. He will only like you if you are a liberal. Get ready to talk about "white privilege" and oppression every single day. Gave me a 0% on a paper for "plagiarism" became I included the director of the movie's name. Greg will teach you NOTHING, his classes are just discussions about liberal media. Him and Carl Root are best friends.

Greg is the best professor I have had. Take him! He has an amazing, sometimes hilarious way of communicating the material that makes it way more interesting than it would be normally. If you try hard enough you should get an A. His tests are kind of tough so just study and you should be fine!

Greg is a great guy and professor. His lectures are interesting, if you show up, take decent notes, and review them for the class, you'll do well on the tests. There are short (half a page-1 typed page) assignments from the book due every couple weeks, then 3 tests (including a non-cumulative final). Take him!

Mr. Ferrell is awesome! When he lectures, he gets on the level with the students, engaging in conversation and using phrases we would use talking to our friends. He's super easy to understand and is VERY helpful! The tests required you to study, though, so you definitely can't slack in his class.

He was the first professor I had at EKU. He is an awesome Professor. I had his class at 8 a.m MWF and he was actually interesting enough to keep me awake. He includes interesting videos in his classes and is hilarious most of the times! He is original and there aren't many professors like him! If you get the chance take him!
