Great guy, very knowledgable. Do the projects and know what you're doing; this will make exam time a lot easier. Don't get bogged down all the powerpoint info. Just focus on bigger picture ideas and what he specifies on the study sheet. Go to class!! He walks you through the difficult parts in the projects. Also is very quick to respond to emails.

Professor cares about you, but is really boring. but if you can keep up with them you will get A's on each Assignment. Halfof your grade comes form the assignments and the tests questions won't be too difficult if you have an understanding of the assignments. Class is useful and its moderately difficult, but its outdated and not very fun at all.

His class is the most boring and irrelevant class you are required to take. REA modeling is such a waste of time and FSU should not include this. He is really nice and will help you any time you need it. Do all the projects and the tests will be easier.

Gerard is incredibly boring during his lectures. That said, outside of class he's an awesome guy. Easy to talk to, cuts up with people, and is willing to help you learn. He is quick to respond to emails and always willing to help. Kind of an odd guy, but he's a fantastic professor and he makes AIS somewhat bearable. Highly recommend!

As noted below, fairly dry class. Great guy, means well, but the material is just outdated. Access is really helpful outside of class so I do recommend paying attention in that regard. Textbook questions and powerpoints help for the exam, he walks you through every project so GO TO CLASS. Easy A and you don't really have to pay too much attention.

Extremely dry when it comes time for class, but he is surprisingly outgoing outside of class. If you show up and pay attention, you get an A. He'll often show you exactly what to do for class projects (45% of grade) if you DO show up to class. AIS and Gerard are both incredibly boring, but I wouldn't take AIS with anyone else. Grin and bear it.

This is absolutely the worst class Ive ever taken. Gerard is so nice and if you have to take it, take it with him. This class is so unbelievably boring and outdated. It could be easy if I could pay attention in class and study for longer than 3 mins at a time bc its so boring. Great professor, terrible class. Idk why acg majors have to take this

Professor Gerard is a great teacher. I would definitely recommend taking ACG 4401 with him. He wants his students do well and loves when you ask questions. The projects can be challenging, but they are a great hands on way to learn the material. His tests are very fair and you will do well if you pay attention in class.

Gerard is a really nice guy, however this is probably the worst class you will take in college as an accounting major. The class has changed and the first project took up to 30 hours cumulatively. Material is very boring and he makes class drag on and on. Do well on projects and you can easily get a B still if you falter on the tests

Gerard is super helpful if you ask. He really wants his students to do well. He's never had a job outside a university, so his teachings have no real world application, but you have to take the class, so take it with him. I would definitely take another class with him.

Gerard is the man! He is so sweet and helpful! Any questions you have he will go out of his way to help! Do well on the projects and ask a lot of questions. This class is horrible, but if you have to take it for accouting, take Gerard!

Frankly put, this class sucks; however, as an accounting student you have to get through it. I will say that he's the better choice out of the two professors for this class. Just read the book and pay attention to his lectures.

Comment:

Homework and attendance are 10% of your grade. Projects are 30%. Get full credit on these because the tests (60%) are difficult to get A's on. He says he curves the final grade but don't count on it, it's less that a point. He's a nice guy and if you try you'll get at least a B. Not too much studying needed for the test (probably 2 hrs each).

If you want to get an A in this class do well on the projects.(30% of grade)Bring the projects to him before and you will get perfect scores on all of them. His tests are a crap shoot(60% of grade)and you won't know what to study-- this class is completly worthless and has no business being required. Prof. Gerards a nice guy though.

I hated this class. It was so boring. This would have to be the best Professor to take the class with since if you're an accounting major you have to take it. The last test is the hardest but he's a fair guy and won't let you fail if you've done well so far in the class.

Complete BS class. If you know Axcess, you are good to go. I sat in the back and played games on phone all class and I have an "A" going into the final. Mostly common sense, I did hear that this class is HARD with other professors, though. Take him if you can!

real nice guy, but stupid class, UF and other schools dont offer this class
