Comment:

The best professor I've had at PSU. Taken 3 classes from him, ranging in difficulty. Unless you miss nearly every class, it's impossible for you not to learn something from him. Intelligent man, willing to share his decades of knowledge if you're willing to learn. Don't be late though, he starts lecturing as he walks through the door.

I liked him. He had a sense of humor as dry as an august wind, and he really doesn't care if you learn or not. Why should he? It's not up to him. I went into the class knowing pretty much nothing about the literature of genocide, and left feeling haunted and inspired. He is a great lecturer, and takes delight in offending people. Fun!

Yeah, this man may be an "entertaining" lecturer, but he's VERY standoffish and arrogant-seeming if you try and approach him after or outside of class. He is one of the most condescending professors that I've ever had! Goekjian, drop the ego, you're not teaching at Harvard, or something! AVOID this guy!

Funny, smart, and able to incite enthusiasm about even the most (seemingly) obtuse and diffuicult aspects of criticism and philosophy. Very helpful and fair grader - Will give you honest judgement and help you to improve your thinking skills, even if he doesn't "agree" with your conclusions.

very funny, sarcastic, raw sense of humor. avoids overly pc delicacy, which is refreshing. very intelligent, well-read man, but, he is very hard to approach outside of class. very passionate, has much to teach. uses great exp. i.e. "sucking on the tit of society" & recites poetry very sexily.
