Had him as my supervisor and took several of his courses. He has a great, clear syllabus, amazing feedback on anything graded, and lectures are not too dry. Tough at times but really wants to see you succeed and cares about his students that actually try in class. Would highly recommend his office hours, he can help tremendously 1 on 1.

Kapfhammer has to be the best professor I've had at Allegheny. He is amazingly enthusiastic, concise, and happy to talk. He has a great sense of humor and is so wonderfully nerdy. Labs are the majority of your grade, so you'll put in a lot of effort and time for his class. Make sure to do example questions in the textbook to study for exams.

Professor Kapfhammer is excellent - he's very intelligent, friendly, and enthusiastic; and his lectures are funny, exciting, and a whole lot of fun. He actually wakes me up in the morning. A lot of upper-level classes, this one included, are way too easy, though. I was really hoping the OS course would have more challenging lab assignments.

Fantastic researcher and excellent to take advanced classes with. He is very demanding and makes you work hard, but you learn SO much. He can get a little carried away sometimes because he's so excited about what he's teaching, but he's is very willing to help his students.
