He LOVES physics and puns! Lectures can get very very dry if you are not interested in the topic. He is also very willing to help you with the material however he can be hard to just find. He can also take a good joke. He once taught a class with a note taped to his back and laughed when he finally found it. (nothing nasty written on it)

Key to success: study notes, attend class, do HW, practice tests and webworks. Do the prelabs ahead of time. Study for the quizzes. If you do all of the webworks, you are 60% there towards 25% of grade. Labs are the other 25%. The exams are 50%. You should be able to succeed. He's basically fair.

Great Professor, If you can't pass his class you didn't try. If you do the graded homework assignments and labs and get decent grades you can pass with a low test average. Hint (if you need help with the HW or labs he will help you). You can also choose what you want to answer on his tests too. Don't know how to do a prob? choose another one.

I took all of my PHY 211 through 214 with Dr. Mahlon and enjoyed my time with him. He is an excellent PHY teacher. He uses webworks to make you study during the week. Plus one open book quiz every week that already prepares you for the exams. My suggestion is if you need to take PHY with Dr. Mahlon, do not hesitate to take any of his classes.

He loves talking about physics. Tries very hard to make class interesting, even if it means cheesy physics jokes to get our attention. Very helpful, he kept his office open all day to walkins on the day before our first exam. You HAVE to do the homework to pass, though! Physics isn't a cakewalk!

I had Prof. Mahlon in the spring and didn't like him much then, but now I have Carrabello at Harrisburg and he is the worst! Mahlon is great compared to him. I got an A in 211, but am struggling for a C now.
