Comment:

So glad Monahan retired. So glad!! This guy is more moody that a room full of menopausal women. Seriously. I think he has some type of mood disorder. He is nice and funny one moment, then grouchy the next. Go figure. He also has a bad memory and wasn't clear on assignments, then students lost points but he didn't care.

Comment:

One of the best professors at Eastern, hands down. His class is very structured and clear. At least one day a term he dresses as a character from history then comes to class to take questions from the students. He LOVES teaching, and he loves teasing his students. Be prepared to be mocked, but in a nice and fun way. Lots of reading, but it's easy.

I took this class for a pass/fail credit my last term. It was amazing. He's super clear about what he demands, and while it may be a high bar, it's worth it. He's very funny in a unique way. Don't be afraid to be teased a bit. He told the entire class about the fact I received negative points on my map, but he did it jestingly. Definitely recommend

He's an amazing teacher, he honestly is. It's a super duper hard class though, you need to show up and get ready to take notes while he talks very fast. The tests are VERY tricky, but he makes learning about this stuff very fun. Not to mention you can actually tell he LOVES to teach. One of the best profs I've had at EOU.

Monahan is very passionate about what he teaches, and is very good at it. One day every term, he dresses up for the subject and stays in character for the day. World War 2 week was very interesting! Ja Herr S.S. Sturmbannführer!

Serious about his subject, yet at the same time easygoing. Lots of work, but he is absolutely clear about what he expects from students beforehand, and is always willing to give advice and assistance when asked. Entertaining and engaging lecturer.
