Working for an A was a challenge. He counts off points almost anywhere on exams and what you do for projects is not explained well in lecture. Just go to TA office hours and become best friends. The TA will help so much! The TA this semester even mentioned some of the assignments being too hard especially for an intro course!

Dr. Cassady is very caring, and he'll help you be successful if you listen to his advice and work hard. I had his research colloquium class, which meant the entire semester was preparing for the symposium. Dr. Cassady grades based on whether he thinks you worked hard and put effort into your research. If you really put in effort, you'll make an A.

Cassady is a horrible professor. No guidelines or defined expectations for any assignments. We would get our grades back on VBA assignments and be shocked at what we lost points on. Two tests in the class with no partial credit opportunities. Doesn't have office hours and doesn't reply to emails. Be prepared to die in this class. I typical make A's

Overall, excellent teacher! Very clear and concise in his explanations and creates good questions based off the material. Yes, he is very difficult compared to most professors and teaches at an accelerated rate. If you are not a very quick learner or have weak math background, tread lightly.

For INEG 2812H: The course seems really good in principle, but in practice was easily the most difficult class of my semester. The sheer amount of busy work is absurd, even for an honors course, and was the reason my grades suffered this semester. Still undecided as to whether it's a good course or not, because it did help me choose my advisor.

He looks nice at the beginning of the semester, but that was it. He usually made his TA lecture. All you need to do in this class is to be the best friend with TA and copy what TA has done. I am so worried because this stupid intro class had taught nothing for future IE classes. A professor like this guy should be kicked out.

Give straight forward lectures that doesn't leave you confused. Does make you feel stupid for answering wrong. Presented the material in a easy format. Enjoyed attending his class. Wished he taught other undergraduate courses.

Cool guy and I feel like I learned a lot but he really sucks at grading. He gave no criteria for grading assignments and took off points mercilessly without reason or comments. You have to spend at least 2 hours a week in the TAs office just to get through the homework. The TA is the one who teaches you everything if you have poor TA youre toast.

This class was interesting until we got to VBA. The TA pretty much taught us how to do all the homework with little help from Dr. Cassady. He's a pretty cool guy and tried to help you understand the code for VBA though. Get ready to become best friends with your TA for this class because that's the only way you will do well in the class!

He seemed to be a good professor at the beginning of the semester, but he became terribly apathetic toward the end of the semester. His TA taught the class nearly half the time and we went nearly a month without any of our grades being posted. No feedback is given on missed points for homework, which is frustrating.

If you have the chance to take this course, do it. Dr. Cassady is an excellent professor for this course. He is very helpful, but things are fast-paced so don't try to slack off. He guides you through every project but you do have to have some personal responsibility skills. Be prepared to spend your year (yes, year) working hard and learning lots.

Dr. Cassady is a fun teacher. I took the Honors Research Experience and it's been helpful for my academic career. Dr. Cassady's class is driven; he doesn't waste time. He's a bit of a harsh grader, so just make sure you're on top of what you turn in. He isn't evil by any means though, and has a great sense of humor.

Horrible experience with this professor. Material was hard and his exams are very though. He grades though too. Gives no partial credit for half well worked problems. Says he is available for questions but never returns phone calls or emails. Not willing to help at all. Take him at your own risk but I do not recommend him at all.
