I have taken 4 classes with him and am taking another 2 this semester. He is a conservative, but enjoys opposing points of view. He likes detail in book reports and essay tests. I have spent time talking to him out of class. Teaching students beware: He notices absences and obvious signs of not reading the req. books. Really good Instructor.

Three tests per semester where you write three essays each, and each of those has you trying to connect three unrelated topics. Hard? Oh yeah

Dr. Schneider is a great professor. He only lectures, but he knows his content so well its really like hes going through the texts. Expect 4-6 papers in his classes and not much else.

Jim Gaffigan, I mean, Professor Schneider, is an excellent instructor. He really knows history and makes it interesting. He gives an outline of what topics will be on each test and if you study each of those topics, you shouldn't have any problems passing.

Comment:
Dr. Schneider is young, very well versed in his field, intelligent, and relatively conservative. He expects you to do the reading (which there is a lot of) and to participate in class discussions. His essays are short for a 400 level class and the tests relatively easy if you pay attention to the lectures. Over all a great guy and fair professor.

He looks like Jim Gaffigan (a total compliment)! Beyond that he is a wonderful teacher and very interesting. If you are willing to prepare an outline for the essay tests they are very easy, but watch out for the final. Instead of one essay he throws two at you for the last one.

HE is a good teacher, and encourages students to do their own thinking. Which is a rarity in the history department.

He is very easy. The lecture format is easy, and he essentially gives you the test as a study guide.
