Professor Sidel is a great professor in all aspects. She is kind, approachable, has a great sense of humor and is fair. Put in the effort and you will do well in this class and learn a lot of interesting facts too! I would love to take her again and would highly recommend her to any student.

Professor Sidel is a gem. Her easy-going lectures are followed up with class discussions of the material we explore. She teaches in a way that keeps you interested. I didn't go to class very often but read the textbook and the two required books and this class was a breeze. Her class is definitely worth taking.

I adore Professor Sidel! She is a sweet and understanding person. She is also a clear and helpful professor--concepts from the textbook are explained in a way anyone could understand. Attendance is not mandatory, but attend and you will pass. There are 3 grades: midterm, paper, and final. All fairly easy--just show up and read the books!

She is awesome. Her grading system is broken down into three categories---test, term paper and test. The tests are very easy, but she can be a bit of a hard grader on the term paper. Frankly, I didn't do much in this class...I got C's on the first to assignments but I studied for the last and I still managed to pull a B-!

Although I didn't attend her lectures too often and I got a B in her class, I would have to say that she is quite easy if you put the effort in (which is actually not too much). She seemed like an extremely engaging, sweet woman who is open to many ideas and discussions. Quirky sense of humor and I would take her again if I had the chance.

i missed her so much i juz had to com back to rate her. she was so nice and approachable and tries to relate to the students. she makes an 8am class worth attending n class was never boring with her humor n stories dat make the concepts relatable n easy to remember. term paper was fun cuz no research was required, entirely ur own experience.

Absolutely loved this woman, she is so sweet and you dont need the textbook because her notes are better. Her tests are easy if you showed up and just listened. You really absorb her lessons because she doesnt lecture, shes like a story teller and its fun and everythings always open to discussion. Definitely recommend taking a class with her!!

Love her! She is so cool and easygoing. Attendance is not mandatory. The only tests are the midterm and final, which are multiple choice and an essay based on a book we have to read. One term paper, 8-10 pages. Easy class.

She's really nice + teaches at a slow pace. One term paper at least 8 pages. Midterm is 2 essays based on the articles + books we had to read. Final is take-home, your choice of 2 out of 3 questions based on the books and lecture. I think it was 4 books total to read but they were interesting, quick reads. Tough grader, have to work hard for the A.

Amazing professor. Hands down, a must take class. She makes sure you get all the notes down, which she dictates, but who cares? With a professor like her, you KNOW you'll still end up loving it. Extremely engaging lectures; very thought provoking material. Must read two books in addition to the textbook. Midterm and final is multiple choice (basically all definitions) and an essay on the assigned book. A 7-10pg paper on a social institution you know first hand - super easy. Go to class and you'll get an easy A.

This professor is quite funny and always has the class laugh at least twice per class. A lot of reading though i must admit but she is very helpful. The class and her lectures were very enjoyable and made you think. I got a c because I didn't put in work. She repeats everything several times too if she wants to dictate something for you to write.
