This semester Fall 2018. He does take attendance and the closer you sit in the front, his lectures are interesting. We have one paper and the exams are easy but only if you study.

Mixed emotions on this guy. If you can get past the number of times he says "in any event" and don't mind listening to a far-leftist propaganda message every class, you'll really like him. Work load is light, assignments are easy. I'd probably take him again, but I can't say I'd necessarily look forward to it.

Took this class during maymester (3weeks). 5 quizzes each week. He only counted the top 10 quiz grades or you could just do 10. 1 Research Paper - you could submit it early - make his suggested corrections & raise your grade. 5 discussion boards weekly - only 10 had to be completed. 2 extra quizzes & an easy internet project for extra credit

Class consists of lectures every day, 3 exams, and a 5 page essay. I personally attended class every day up until the first exam, and I found out that he posted all of the in-class content on D2L. I only attended class a few more times after that, and I learned everything I needed to know from the book and his online PowerPoints and study guides.

I am not a good test taker so I did not make a super good grade. You are graded on 4 test and 1 paper. He is super nice and great lectures. I would highly recommend taking him.

Very knowledgable. Very opinionated and a bit off topic at times, but you will definitely learn in this class. Attendance is not required, but definitely necessary if you actually want to learn. Minimal work load (only four assignments the entire class) and pretty easy grader. I'd take again.

Attendance was not mandatory, syllabus contained all assignments so you knew what was due and when it was due well in advance. Assignments for an entire semester was one paper 4-5 pages. Midterm, final and two extra credit assignments. Midterm and final were straight forward multiple choice.

I took american history 2020 online, we had 3 discussion boards weekly, 16 quizzes he only grades the highest 10 . A midterm with 6 essay questions and you only have to do 3. He requires they each be 3-4 paragraphs. All the quizzes are multiple choice and directly from the book. The final is just as easy. Take this class and don't stress over it.

We only had 4 grades within the semester: midterm, 5 page paper, 10 page paper, and final. The midterm and final both consisted of 5 essay questions and you answered 3. If you start working on your essays as soon as you have your information you'll do great.

Dr. Zieren is probably the best History prof I've had over the years. I took 3 of his classes. He really knows his stuff. Great communicator and story teller. Has a way of making the information relevant. His lectures are long, but worth every minute.

Took Professor Zieren for my first history class as a freshman. HE IS GREAT. Attendance is not mandatory, but would recommend going to classes. Only 2 midterm test, then 1 final with a paper. Grades pretty easy, and also is a funny guy. You can tell he loves what he does, and for me not liking history... I strongly advise anyone to take him!!!

Total of two tests, one written assignment and one final. There are a few opportunities for extra credit, reading the text book is beneficial since a portion of the test is taken directly from the text book. Study guide is given before each test, and the written assignment is based on an additional reading assignment. For the most part the lectur

Our grades rested on 1 paper and 3 exams. 20% multiple choice and 80% essay questions. The multiple choice is easy, read over the answers he posts and you should get all of them, I always did it the day of the exam. He gives you a list of essay questions to review. Study them. He has 4 essays on the exams and you choose 2. Pretty easy. Great man!
