worst professor I have ever encountered. Lazy, doesn't teach; the midterm was 120 questions and 6 short answers all within one hour 15 min. Study guides were useless and theres no homework or quizzes to help your grade, just journals which don't help with learning the material. Please do not take this class. Literally, pick anyone else.

Attendance IS NOT MANDATORY Generally, he gives you up to 2 extra credit opportunities (awesome) This is a team-taught class ONE term paper due at the end of the semester VERY lenient with due dates (but I would still turn things in early) SIT AT THE FRONT AND TAKE A LOT OF NOTES, WILL COME IN HANDY FOR THE EXAMS SKIM THE TEXTBOOK FOR THE EXAMS

I would not recommend taking this professor There are plenty of better and way easier professor to take. He is very nit picky about his outlines and makes it unnecessarily hard to present your speeches. You also can not present a speech without going to his after hours and having him look at it.

Unorganized, not transparent. Keep talking to Macario about grades so u can fix I'm not good at history at all, last history class was 2.5 yrs ago but got A. Only book need is Henretta book. Other 2 not need. Never went to class other than for tests or read. 3 EC opportunities, worth 30 pts each. 1 MT, 10 journal entries, Final. On T/F, MOST true

not the best lecturer but offers a lot of ec and guidance in office hours. the tests are heavily based on the readings but i somehow bs'd them and got an A+. Do good on the paper/journals, go to office hours, and take advantage of ec.

hated this class. Both professors taught very differently. mora-torres wrote random word on the board with out explaining anything. Never used canvas. Updated 2 weeks before the end of the semester, and forgot to grade many of the student assignments. Several students had to find their assignments and prove that they had turned them in.

Mora-Torres is a mediocre professor at best. His lectures are mainly him writing a few unorganized words on the board (in his messy handwriting) and telling the class that you are responsible for things he doesn't cover in class. Honestly, for tests you could read the book and not show up to class and do equally as well.

Dont take this class for an easy A its impossible! The professor is unprofessional he fell asleep before while the 2nd professor taught the class. He doesnt use canvas, and the midterm was too long to even finish! Everything that is talked about in class isnt even on the test! And he doesnt make power points either its just lectures!

One of the worst classes I've ever taken. Two different professors, two different teaching styles makes it difficult to follow. Doesn't use Canvas which makes it harder to keep track of lectures and assignments. Writes random terms on the board without clear explanation. Not clear on what he expects on tests and papers.

boring! Do not take this professor, his lectures are irrelevant, long and doesnt have anything to do with what MAS really is. He doesnt use canvas which makes it worse and he doesnt resond to emails. Lastly hes horrible at answering questions and doesnt go into detail about future assignments. No solid lesson plan in class, its basically a joke

Professor Mora-Torres is well respected, but his lectures can be quite boring unless you're really into the topics. He was always behind what was scheduled in the syllabus for lectures and kept postponing students' presentations. 3 EASY short papers of any topic related to Mexico, oral presentation, 1 midterm & final. Tests are LONG and tedious

He grades pretty easy on the journal entries, 7 overall and most of my classmates got an A on them. 1 research paper and a midterm. The tests are HEAVILY OFF THE BOOK. READ THE BOOK. His study guide is vague and both the tests are over 100 questions, but he provides extra credit in the test and outside of class. Not too hard if you only want a C.

Really cool guy to talk to, but his lectures are boring. Expects a lot of reading, but doesn't once address the book. Lectures are unorganized. Doesn't explain how to do the essay. I didn't learn much from the class at all.

Reads off his notes, writes terms and names on board, sloppy handwriting, tough grader, boring lectures. Lectures with Tabera. 2 different teaching styles, it's annoying. Long exams. Read the book. Expects a lot on the research paper.

lectures and actual tests feel completely different. You do need to keep up with reading. The syllabus is nowhere near whats covered in class. VERY interesting lectures if you're into history but OH MY they are not clear on assignments, go to office hours and if you think you may not understand an assignment just go ask them. somehow I got an A+

He is a really nice professor, doesn't always understands students questions though. You MUST go to his office hours a couple times to get your outline approved but he does everything he can to help you get an A on it and an A on your speech. 3 Quizzes which are super easy and final is the quizzes combined. Go to class, syllabus isn't always right.

Yes he has an accent but its not that hard to understand. He's a nice professor and is really approachable. Lectures on the board can be hard to follow. Read the books, answer every question on the midterm/final and do decent on the term paper and you will pass.
